Which car for three child seats?

Have you done a Google search, there a few listed but not many, what is your budget? The AudiQ7 seems to top the list0

Citroen Picasso's of all generations have 3 full size seats in the rear.0

My son bought a Skoda Kodiaq for the rear space - huge legroom and I reckon it could take three seats, subject to how big they are as some seem enormous these days. Your other option is something with three rows of seating, depending of course how old your children are and whether you’d want one sitting back there?0

Kodiaq only has isofix for 2 seats on the second row. The Picasso is a good shout as that has isofix for 3baser999 said:My son bought a Skoda Kodiaq for the rear space - huge legroom and I reckon it could take three seats, subject to how big they are as some seem enormous these days. Have you thought about buying a seven-seater, such as a Zafira?

I've had experience of this. It would be much cheaper to buy the seats to fit the car. Child seats come in all sizes. Unless you have triplets all under one year old you should be able to fit in a standard 3 seat bench of Ford Focus, vw golf size.0

Idlook at getting a family car and not necessarily a 'big' car. We replaced a Toyota Verso with a Volvo XC60 but the available space was more useable in the smaller Toyota together with things like fold down trays. A flat tailgate while not so nice looking also gave better use of the boot.

Unexpected journeys
If the correct child car seat isn’t available, a child aged 3 or older can use an adult seat belt if the journey is all of the following: unexpected, necessary, over a short distance.
You can’t take children under 3 on an unexpected journey in a vehicle without the correct child car seat, unless both of the following apply:
- it’s a licensed taxi or minicab
- the child travels on a rear seat without a seat belt
No room for a third child car seat
Children under 3 must be in a child car seat. If there’s no room for a third child car seat in the back of the vehicle, the child must travel in the front seat with the correct child car seat.
Children aged 3 or older can sit in the back using an adult belt.

Subject to budget and depending upon what else you might want to use the vehicle for, there’s always vehicles such as the Mercedes Vito, VW Caravelle/Transporter, Citroen SpaceTourersevenhills said:Have you thought about buying a seven-seater, such as a Zafira?0 -
It does depend on what child seats you want to fit. So far as I know there is no car that takes 3 baby seats or 3 extended rear facing seats in one row - though there are specialist 'bench' options (where a unit comprised of 3 infant/child seats is fitted across the back seats). 3 high back boosters can easily fit in a row and a combination of boosters and full on infant seats may work depending on the car.166 said:Which are the best cars to take three child seats in the back passenger seat?
