CCA Request - should I go ahead or not

    If they've responded as if it's a valid request, then leave it. If they've responded like NCO, then you will need to go the full hog

    Some companies require you to make a formal request, quoting chapter and verse, along with the statutory £1 payment, whilst others are OK with the more relaxed approach.

    Unfortunately you don`t know which is which until you send it.

    The result is the same either way.

  • Just received a letter through the door from Lowell, have a balance of £9,600 and they have offered me 50% discount to be paid over 3 payment.......wow

    Seems like a good offer on the face of it, and it likely will be good for you, but when you consider the fact they will have paid approx. £1800 for this account, and they get £4800 in return, they have still doubled their money.

    i suspect they offer large discounts when they cant comply with cca requests and the debt is unenforceable. but as theyve suppled yours possibly, i would ask for a larger discount as you cant afford more. 
  • lowell did provide the cca for a card but this is for a loan i had which i had to complain to the ombudsman about due to not recording the default that the original loan provider had recorded, the lowell entry has since been removed from my credit file altogether
