How can I obtain a copy of my lost decree absolute super-quick!

My partner and I finally decided to get engaged after decades together and are looking to get married in April - no point in hanging around! However, I cannot find my divorce certificate anywhere! I called the court where I thought the divorce was finalised, but they couldn't find a record of it and said I had to go through the Central Family Court via a form D440. However, the current wait time to receive a copy is 20 weeks, which scuppers our April plans. My question is, are these document companies that promise a copy in 20 working days actually worth going to? Before I part with any money, can they actually organise copies so quickly?

Did you use a solicitor - I got a copy of mine from their archives when I needed it.mean-woman said:My partner and I finally decided to get engaged after decades together and are looking to get married in April - no point in hanging around! I suspect that if this was a practical option you'd have thought of it already, but just in case - can you ask your ex?

Thanks for your replies - of course, I can't remember the solicitor I used 😭and can't find any records of that either! And I have no idea where the ex is now and he is extremely unlikely to have kept any paperwork - worse than me!0
