I have a 3 day dispatch on and am using 2nd class post. Someone has just bought something and it shows estimated delivery from 4-5th January 2024 .
I have no idea what planet ebay are on!

I have a 5 day despatch time and buyer's are being quoted within 5 days for delivery. How's that work? Luckily I do post within 48 hours but then Ebay move the delivery time goalposts again.0

Purchased something the other day, postage was "other 5 day courier", listing showed the fast and free delivery within 3 days green badge/text....
Ordered on the 1st with an ETA of the 5th.
I think eBay are going off past delivery speeds for sellers who upload tracking for most orders. In the game of chess you can never let your adversary see your pieces0 -
My most recent sale was on 4th January. 3-5 day courier, one day dispatch. So sent on 5th January. Delivery estimate on order 6th - 8th January. No idea what's going on with that, being as there's a Sunday in the middle of the delivery estimate as well.0

It’s not just eBay that have unrealistic expectations, buyers do as well. Someone purchased on Tuesday, it was posted on Thursday (2 day dispatch) and they asked on Friday as to why it was taking so long to get to them. Even if I posted on Tuesday, 2nd class post, it probably still wouldn’t have been there by Friday. 🤷♂️Northern Ireland club member No 382 :j1

Well my parcel mentioned above turned up on the 5th, I'm sure eBay are gathering data and trying to get the ETA as short as possible based on several factors which isn't a bad thing except for when things go wrong there's not much leeway for orange blobs although I don't think they matter unless you are a business who wants to be TRS, I can't see any other consequence for too many lates being mentioned on the seller dashboard. In the game of chess you can never let your adversary see your pieces0

If you get too many (percentage wise not numbers) then you can fall below standard and a private seller risks losing the FVF promotions and offers.Well my parcel mentioned above turned up on the 5th, I'm sure eBay are gathering data and trying to get the ETA as short as possible based on several factors which isn't a bad thing except for when things go wrong there's not much leeway for orange blobs although I don't think they matter unless you are a business who wants to be TRS, I can't see any other consequence for too many lates being mentioned on the seller dashboard.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.
