Amazingly different housing groups/organisations have different processes and standards. Ask the mob you are interested.. anything else will v likely be a guess.

Sadly I miss-spoke myslef, now 78.. but still alive, half-active… and my kids(3)/grandkids(8) say not always entertaining…

That must vary by area. There is an abundance of sheltered housing being constructed near to where we are and all private sector. The residential criteria are usually an age threshold and having money. There is barely anything offered by the Local Authority.
