Hello

I am looking to buy matching but separate upright Fridge and freezer units in white.
These seemed ideal, especially with the high capacities that I need...........

Samsung RR7000 RZ32M7125WW/EU – Freezer – 323l

Samsung RR7000 RR39M7140WW/EU – Fridge – 385l

Unfortunately a long history of really dreadful Reviews on Samsung's own website has put me completely off these.

Can anyone recommend a pair of similar or even larger capacity units please? Hoping to get something sorted soon, perhaps with some seasonal discount:-)

We bought Miele grade A from the outlet - couldn't be happier. Never thought it would make any difference but all green leafy stuff stays fresher much longer.

We have very similar RZ32M71207F & RR39M73407F in the now discontinued stainless steel. The fridge has been brilliant but the freezer has had several issues with the auto-defrost programme that resulted in it being changed twice and then ended up in court when it broke a third time but they'd stopped the SS model and wanted to give us a white one.

We failed to find anything at a similar price point with similar kinds of capacities, which maybe should be seen as telling. Ultimately we looked at Liebherr and Miele (the later being made by the former anyway), a quick google shows their price gap is not so big now as it was 3 years ago.

    It appears also the
RZ32M7125WW has been discontinued and so you too may have an issue finding a matching unit were you to have problems with yours and it needed switching out.
  • I’ve had a couple of hotpoint fridge freezers which have been decent quality and value.

Which model are you recommending @horsewithnoname? The only one I can see similar in white is the UH6 but its 228L capacity compared to the Samsung 323L which is almost 100L less so a big sacrifice in capacity for the same footprint

Is it not the case that freezers with auto defrost/frost free functions, tend to be anyway more unreliable than just a standard freezer, as there are more things to go wrong ? Plus more expensive, and noisy ?

Sorry, I just read fridge freezer, didn’t clock that you wanted separate ones. Apologies 😬

The fridge also has frost free claims however todate (5 years and counting) hasn't missed a beat

Have previously had auto-defrost freezers that were over 10 years old before needing a first look at.

Thank you very much for the replies. Very sorry to hear that contributors have personally experienced the enormous stress a randomly defrosting high volume Samsung freezer must cause. I have to thank the people that took the time to leave reviews as hopefully this will save me going through similar. It would not be so bad if Samsung had learnt any lesson from this but the same bad reviews on apparently similar freezers have been regularly posted for years now. I also read somewhere that for correct operation, room temperature should not drop below a certain level; I think it was quite high, perhaps 16 c. That precludes these from use in outbuildings and I suggest, realistically, in most people's homes?
Going to have a good search now for Liebherr/Miele in the hope that they offer similar items and will report back if I find anything suitable. The units do have to be white as the kitchen is white and really want those sorts of capacities; everything else, including cost is flexible and the simpler and more efficient/longer living, the better.

OK, thanks to an earlier poster I investigated Liebherr further and found the perfect fridge - RE 5220 Plus and its twin Freezer FNE 5227 Plus. The freezer is  277 litres and there was a larger equivalent available - 363 litres - FNC 7227 Plus but at around twice the price, not quite worth it. I have ordered from Sparkworld, a local company with good prices, free delivery and £20 each to take away some old, make do freezers, used for 15+ years.
Thank you for guiding me in the right direction, much appreciated:-)
