Airport charges

Hi,
My wife and I have just booked a flight from London Heathrow to Geneva for next September.
Reading the flight information, it states that there are various charges that are refundable. The exact wording is,
*Government and/or airport taxes are refundable, however some countries will apply a Value Added Tax, Sales Tax or equivalent, which will only be refunded on fully flexible tickets.
Do you know if we can claim back on any if not all of these charges, if so how?
The taxes in question are
| Air Passenger Duty - United Kingdom | GBP 13.00 |
| Passenger Service Charge - United Kingdom | GBP 21.99 |
| Airport Passenger Security & Noise Charge - Switzerland | GBP 29.10 |
and
| Carrier Imposed Charge | GBP 15.00 |
Thank you - Mr R.Rowley

I think they mean 'refundable' in the sense that you might receive the taxes back if you cancel your flight.4

If you use the tickets and travel then nothing is refundable. What it is pointing out that there are some elements that may be refundable if you cancel your flight even if the ticket rules say it is non-refundable.
If you were cancelling for a reason covered by your travel insurance they would usually refund the non-refundable parts and expect you to go to the airline for the refundable part.

You should also bear in mind that some airlines will charge a cancellation fee that will eat up most or all of any refund that might theoretically be available. I wouldn't rely on getting anything significant back.

Shonky on-line travel agents (many who have been mentioned on here) will charge high cancellation fees on top of any that the airline (if booked direct) imposesSiliconChip said:You should also bear in mind that some airlines will charge a cancellation fee that will eat up most or all of any refund that might theoretically be available.
