KajiKita said:He threw up *over* a standard lamp?! Just how BIG, is Watty dog …. ? 😳😂
It is an old barley twist lamp that belonged to my grandmother and the varnish was stripped off years ago at a wood stripping place and it is just waxed. After the mop and scrub of last night it will need some more wax added I think. Another job for the list. (It no longer plugs in, it has a re-chargeable light bulb so it can stand anywhere now so at least I could scrub it without fear of electrics!)
Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

Sounds like a pretty lamp and I love the idea of having a rechargeable bulb in it so you can move it around - genius!

Aw wattydog, I had my best cat who after years of getting a random bit of paper stuck under her nose when she started retching, worked out she was to be sick ON something. Her little kitty brain decided my slippers, a yellow pages, a leather handbag, etc was also great. Sigh.
Hope he's feeling better today and you have a nice quiet Fri

Eww, handbag! Reminds me of the seal-spotting trip I took DS on when he was about three. He was given cake by someone on the boat, and the nursery "treated" all the children to a McDonalds and chips. It was the first day I had used my secretly purchased, first ever designer handbag that had cost £110, back in the spendy days. It was the first time we realised that DS could not tolerate artificial colour (E102) orange food dye; used in the oil that the reconstituted potato sticks are fried in to give them a more attractive golden colour, or artificial sweeteners (in the cakes) - he vomited into my bag on the way home and I tried so many times to sort it out, and failed. It quietly went in the dustbin. Bearing in mind that was almost thirty years ago, I was heartbrokenSave £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £4863.32 out of £6000 after May (81.05%)

Aaasgh, what was wrong with over side of boat? Your poor bag
Kyle was sick on the front flap of a pale tan saddlebag type bag. I tried getting it off too but it always looked like a runny stain so mine too ended up in the bucket

That's a harsh mission @dawnybabes but thank god for friends like you
I had a week to clear out my dad's (rented) home when he died. It did not help with the grieving process and I think my mental health is still really affected by having to sort out absolutely everything all at once when in the absolute worst emotional place.
Liking the conversion of a lamp into a rechargeable bulb one (bar the nearness of it to wattydog!)
Have a relaxing weekend.
I always find a grilled steak or pork chop is an easy dinner win with some frozen veg and chips etcDON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff. Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.

.WattyDog is fine and I've smiled at your tales although @Suffolk_lass that must have been some handbag at £110 30 years ago - I note you said "first" so I'm wondering how many there have been since? SpillMade it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
