Happy New Year to you all xxx
My sister and I spent New Year’s Eve in A&E with mum 😳 my dd and I went round to see her and she was in a right state, she still had an upset tummy from Christmas Day and had not told anyone, she was running to the loo every few minutes and had accidents all over the place, I phoned 111 and they advised us to take her in as she is elderly and has diabetes and heart problems, I called my sister and she came over while dd went home, I spent a while cleaning and putting some washing on etc and mum had a shower.
We got to A&E to find a packed waiting room, we saw triage within about an hour and then sat and waited and waited and waited, eventually I went and asked how much longer it would be and they said there were still 25 people in front of us 😳, mum was shivering with cold at this point - we had been there five hours and there were people lined up in the corridors waiting for beds, so we made the decision to bring her home in the warm and get her into bed,
She managed a bit of toast and a cuppa and we tucked her up in bed with her electric blanket on, I have phoned her this morning and she seems a bit brighter, so I will pop round and see her later.
It has made me realise though that she needs more help, so today I will start the process off about looking for a carer to come in three days a week, they will help with light cleaning duties, cooking if she needs it but mum loves to cook, they will take her shopping and just things like a coffee or a ride out, my sister and I do what we can but it’s difficult when we both work.
Sorry that turned into a bit of an essay !Hope everyone is ok xx
Have good days all and take care xx15 -
Morning! One of the cats is under the weather so I boiled some chicken for her last night so she could have the broth. That's going down a storm so hopefully she was just feeling off rather than off enough for the vet. We'll see. There's a shop that sells fireworks locally so we were expecting several to go off around us and they certainly did. This year though, the fireworks didn't last as long as they usually do, CoL crisis kicking in? No plans for today, except make a roast for much later on. I took some pork out last night to defrost but I'm not doing roast on steroids today, just potatoes and parsnips and sprouts...Have an ice day doing as little as posible all, hugs n stuff.....

Good morning, just made it.
No huge celebrations here last night and no resolutions for me - I have a tendency to over think everything and it’s another pressure I don’t need at the moment. I will do new things (crafts probably) but I’m not ticking lists! Sorry I probably sound grumpy!Already been a long dog walk and done over 10k steps - very quiet out but SO nice it see some sunshine even if underfoot is muddy.I shall try and post every day, I don’t do anything much exciting but do love to read about other people’s days whatever they are - so if you’re planning a big trip or just contemplating changing the brand of toilet roll you use, I love to read it! 😂
have a good day

Afternoon all up late at 9am this morning as we had friends stay over we always see each other at new year we didn't go to bed till 2.30am as there were lots of fireworks and we were chatting so it was a nice evening ,after they left we loaded the car and went to the tip which was surprisingly quiet it will be a light meal for us tonight maybe soup and a roll
Right in the true spirit of new years day i will be sitting in the lounge eating leftover crisps and chocolate and binge watching the tv dont want to jinx anything by washing or cleaning
Ruby hugs to you and your poor mum i hope she is on the mend but its a tough decision to make having to persuade them they need a helping hand
Right hope you all have a good day stay safe warm and dry xxxSlava Ukraini12 -

Happy New Year everyone
I'm late today but I had little one until about 4pm - we've been busy with lego all afternoon. We went down to my mam and dads this morning, my brother and sister in law came down too so it was a nice morning. Little one was so excited -'Happy new year it's my birthday in 2 sleeps, just 2 sleeps I can't believe it!'
I had just got her to sleep last night when there was really loud fireworks, she was so upset it took a while to settle her - it was just 7pm. DD said there were a few at midnight but they didn't wake me or little one. The last twice she has stayed she has stayed in her own bed till 7am, what a difference it has made even she has pointed out I'm not so grumpy! DD has been quite strict with her about staying in her own bed since moving and it seems to have worked.
Bellabella - I read too fast and thought you'd gone to the tip at 2.30am!
Florenceem - nice to see you again, as part of my mams Christmas present I donated a toy on her behalf to our local Salvation Army Christmas present appeal.
I've got a salmon wellington in the oven for tea for me and eldest DD - it's her last night. She goes back to Germany early in the morning - it's been lovely having her back.
Hope everyone's had a good day x13
