I believe the silicon for panels is made from sand - lots of that around, so one less thing to worry about! But I agree about wind and water.

That's what they said about petroleum 🤣

It would be great if I could harness some wind power - it's been unexpectedly gusty today! I don't think town planning would look kindly on a wind turbine in my back garden though I have plenty of trees - helping shield the house, stabilise the soil, encourage wildlife and provide oxygen. 😊Also leaves to compost in the autumn, sticks and logs for the wood burner and privacy for us and the neighbours. 😊 They do get in the way of the wind power, though.

I've only just seen this, sorry! Thank you very much @Laura_Elsewhere . I've not done anything about the books yet. I have quite a few but I do think these more recent ones may be duplicates. I just didn't want to leave them at the car boot sale!
I think it will have to go on my 'to do' list: sell or pass on to Laura. I can't guarantee when but on the other hand, the thought they might go to someone who would properly appreciate them is a joyous one!

I contacted the company today and got an extension of the time-limited offer, then hastily started a thread on the board mentioned above (thank you @ArtyJ931, that was exactly what I needed). Answers so far have been very helpful and given me the confidence to step back from the expensive quote. I will probably message him tomorrow to say sorry, but no. The pressure technique of a limited-time offer was bothering me. It didn't give me time to research properly and of course they are relying on that. I was willing to pay the extra if I thought it was worth it, but now people are telling me there are better batteries and it can be done for a couple of thousand less. Someone has also mentioned that there are legal restrictions on time limited offers.
I'm hoping I can build up my knowledge enough to enable me to know what products I want rather than buy a package, but then, of course, I'll have to find someone to install what I want and work out how to optimise returns. I thought I'd really made progress with AI when I got it to write practice papers for the Thursday class, but I don't think that's going to help me make a package that will monitor sun and prices and storage, and handle buying and selling back. It's out there somewhere, as the company is using it, but getting my hands on it may be a challenge.
Anyway, the class went well this afternoon, but I'm tired now and need sleep, but I have a few bits to do first. Work this evening was three hours and dinner was Southern Fried chicken. Some minor spending - a bag of sweets, a greetings card and a bus fare.

Exactly! 🤣
That's one of the things MSE is so good at.

I've got almost nowhere this morning apart from telling L1me 3nergy that we won't be using them, taking side shoots off a tomato plant and browsing on the computer. I'd better get my act together.
I had a V1nted sale last night so that needs to be sent. It was over £20, which helps redress the balance of spends and sales, but spends are still in the lead!
I bought a big punnet of strawberries the other day and they need to become jam, which DH will then eat in next to no time, but never mind.
At some point I need to do the church cleaning and put together a list of what I've covered in the Thursday class so the tutor can add it to the files. I ought to wash my hair, do Duolingo and my Bible reading and battle the latest lot of ironing.
I am sure there were a number of things to be done but they will have to be added to the list when I remember.
