The weather has been pretty dry today, but it's not summery unless you count wanna-be thunderclouds racing over. The washing from two days ago is nearly dry but I haven't been in most of the day so I couldn't attend to it.
This afternoon's class was okay though exam prep is happening and I need to find some more examples for the person to practice on. AI was very helpful this morning, when I fed it the prerequisites for one part of the exam and it gave me scenarios to practice with. I now know the course finishes in the first week of July, but I don't know if I'll be needed again in the autumn.
The good side of that is that I'll be available for childcare on Thursday over the summer should DD need me - she's still not well despite being on antibiotics.
This evening there were some dramas, two of which aren't my business, so I won't write about them. The other was that as I packed up to leave work, the alarms went off. Shortly after, I realised the building had been locked up with me inside, so I rang the manager who immediately got security out to me - but they faffed about outside because one of them didn't have his pass on him. I gave him short shrift for not checking the building properly though it later turned out he'd asked a colleague, who hadn't realised I was in. Then the police turned up, blue light and all, as the alarms will be connected to their building. I left security to deal with them, and to be fair both he and the colleague have said sorry. I wouldn't have been annoyed if it were a complete one-off but a few days ago he locked a main side entrance so that I had to get someone to let me through another gate, and it's happened before.
Anyway, in the grand scheme of things, it's nothing.
Spending today: £3 bus fare, £1.05 on a bag of sweets. The bus fare will be refunded. I had one of the meat pies I made, for lunch, and banana muffins and chocolate for tea, then a baked potato when I got in from work, so I have almost avoided the work-day food spending.

It's a nice sunny day today, though not particularly warm. I've washed the bedding and am about to hang it on the line and there's a heap of ironing to do at some point. In fact, the house is rather a tip so I need to catch up on things that have been left lying around over the past couple of days, and wade through the drift of receipts that I have accumulated (they always grow faster than I can keep up).
In the afternoon I need to get my part of church cleaning done.
DS1 has said he'll lend us his pressure washer so I've been putting off returning garden things to their places till that's done, but he's really busy and may not have time to extricate it for a while. I did consider getting one of our own, but it's storage… I wonder if I could rent one? But then I've already asked DS.

Once I got going, I was quite productive (took a while) but even so there's an even bigger mound of ironing now, due to a second load of washing which just about squeezed onto the line. You would never guess I did lots earlier!
Church cleaning didn't take long, and I remembered I needed to swap some activity bags out of storage, so we have fresh material for a few weeks. I heard yesterday that one of the helpers needs to step down, in addition to the person who's having the baby. I have one new person in the pipeline, as it were, - but I suspect end of the academic year and possibly September are times when people reassess and it may be there are more changes to come.
Paid work was quite energetic as I had two areas to cover, and they were ones I don't know well so I wasn't all that efficient. On the way home I saw that MrT has suddenly given me a handful of vouchers on my app, some of which are possibilities. They are very keen on me doing a big shop but the £25 off £80 is highly unlikely to be used. However, 20% off sausages was a good one and only runs for a few days so I called in for those, then on to L1dl to see if they had anything interesting and spend my free vegetable voucher on a bag of sweet potatoes. I spotted a couple of their deluxe fruit teas to try - we had some of the Green Rooibos with peach and cherry, and DH liked it a lot. Even I, who am hard to please, will have it again.
Then as I wandered homewards with full carrier bags, I bumped into my work bestie from my previous job and stopped for a catch up. I have the low-down on various things now, but I've asked her round for a proper chat next week.
Spending:
Housekeeping £14.00 by me and £3.95 by DH.
Fuel £50.52 (so here's hoping the car passes its MOT, due soon).
Cash £10 for the car boot sale tomorrow, but the forecast is for rain so that probably won't be happening.

Today in 1959, my parents were married. It's funny how I still end up wishing for nice weather, if only for any other couples choosing today to get married! As it was, we had light drizzle in the morning and nice weather later in the afternoon.
DH went out for a bike ride and I did the ironing in the morning. There's still a fair amount to do! I also washed a load of jeans.
Lunch was tuna pasta (which I finished for tea) and a spiced bread pudding (which we'll finish tomorrow). That uses up some eggs and some of the frozen bread in the interests of being MS.
In the afternoon we spent some of the coffee voucher I got on offer earlier in the year, then mooched down the High Street trying unsuccessfully to find a new pair of jeans for DH. When we got home the weather was nice, so despite DH being stricken with hay fever, we moved some of the stuff off the lawn back to near the house. It's been there about a month due to the roof work, so there are circles in the grass where the pots have been. DH has some mending to do on the bench but we realised we have lathes left over from the builders which are suitable to replace the rotting end of one piece of the bench. I've only done the more accessible diagonal of the garden so far but it looks a whole lot better.
Spending has been oddments of groceries and £7 on hay fever tablets for DH. The EG tea and hot chocolate count as free at the point of consumption.

Another hay fever day today and not all that warm either, around 16C but that feels a tad cool when we've been used to more.
We had two lots of church today due to an evening service, but there was also a business meeting and I tried to fit in dropping off a card for the member of my team who is leaving. Failed at that bit so I'll look up her address. Anyway, lunch was sausages, fried onion and baked potato, so nice and quick and topped off with spiced bread pudding and custard.
I meant to carry on with the garden this afternoon but came over very tired and went to bed. I couldn't explain the tiredness but DH came to see if I was ready to go for a walk we'd planned, and I definitely wasn't. I eventually woke up about tea time and was very woozy. Normally that happens in the morning. I had a cream egg for tea and am still not ready to eat properly, but I had my usual hot chocolate and a few crisps and have just made myself have a banana and a bit of granola. I'm suspicious that this could just be due to an increase in the dose of one of my medications, which started yesterday. I looked up the side effects and it's not impossible but not quite in line with the medication. Overall, it's more like a mild version of a reaction to an antibiotic I had once, which kicked in after one dose and knocked me out all day bar a couple of hours. I couldn't find the tiredness in the side effects and I've been having the milder form of the drug for months with nothing like this so perhaps it's not linked. I'm missing tonight's dose to see how I do tomorrow - I know one night without will not make a big change in the condition but the loss of appetite is weird and is listed as a possible result of the medication.

Feel better soon!
4 YEARS 10 MONTHS DEBT FREE!!! (24 OCT 2016)(With heartfelt thanks to those who have gone before us & their indubitable generosity.)...and now I have a mortgage! (23 AUG 2021)Original End Date - Sept 2041 New projection - Sep 2038 (reduced by 3 years)1 -
Hope you feel better soon. Is it worth talking to the prescriber to ask if you can lower the dose and gradually increase upwards to see if that helps? (Ignore this if completely unsuitable it is based on medicated a horse 😂)
Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!2 -
Thank you @ladybird1106 , @rtandon27 and @Watty1 , I feel okay despite my snoring waking DH. I went to the spare bed and got some more sleep but the poor chap couldn't get back to sleep and is in work today.
Your comment about medicating horses made me laugh Watty! I know that vets can treat humans, though, so why not? The pharmacist explained to me that this increase looks big but is actually only about 16% more available drug, so I am going to see whether things are back to normal today and try another dose tonight if they are. It could have been coincidental.
It was raining hard at breakfast time, but I think it will be mostly dry. I hope to do a bit more in the garden. Our neighbours across the way are taking down their old garage so there's been a bit of noise but it seems to be done already. They thought there was asbestos in it and warned us, but DH said it was going unwrapped in a trailer so perhaps not.
Other than that I'm looking into a cheaper phone network and logging some receipts. I have work this evening.
