My sister has two robot vacuum cleaners, one upstairs and one down, I was watching it the other day and I am not convinced its very good, it certainly would work in my house of three cats and me catching fabric and threads all over the place. @basketcase - the robot works best if you have very little furniture / get everything off the floor. It would be an abject failure in my home, circumnavigating piles of books etc.
