Car insurance renewal

It is that time of year again.

Last year, Churchill, fully comp and green flag breakdown cost was £268.
Never made a claim, 10 years NCB, renewal quote £496. >85% increase.

Had a look on a compare site for same cover and excess, Darwin friends of Churchill £369.
As I am with Churchill, will I be allowed to move to "Friends of Churchill"?

Yes, very rarely is there any issue not taking a renewal and taking a new policy with the same company, let alone one of the other companies in the group.
  • Thanks for the replies.

Yes, it is a huge increase. I have made sure I am not on auto renew so I will change in 3 weeks when the current policy ends.

You want to be buying it now with a start date in 3 weeks.

Even so that's a hefty increase. Are you sure that's the best price?

It does seem to be the best price using a well known comparison website.
I can only assume that car insurance has gone up across the board.
I have no points or convictions and have never made an insurance claim.
