Shared car finance?

My partner and I are organizing a purchase with a main dealer. I've liaised with them on the phone, but due to being unwell, she's been the one to see them in person and drive the car. We agreed to buy via pcp for the time being, but as I haven't been there, he said it would be a lot easier for my partner to do the finance application with him on the phone, instead of joint.
The dealer has a very good reputation and reviews, but this confused me a little bit and don't see how me not being there or visiting in person complicates me being on the PCP?
