Thought I had posted earlier but it seems to have disappeared.
Heard from the Coroner's office yesterday so I can now register DH's death and get a proper certificate and not an interim one.
Keep warm and safe.If you walk at night no-one will see you cry.10 -
Afternoon!
Quick pop to the shops for a couple of small presents for DFs 85th birthday on Tuesday - and just received a 100 year old atlas that I have bought for him on ebay.......apparently he'd hoped to inherit a similar one from his grandparents but didn't know what happened to it....he only mentioned it on Tuesday and I'm 99% positive I've got the right one after some subtle questioning of size/publisher/age etc. Now very excited for him to open it!
Other than that a slow day - feeling generally anxious today so trying to be slow and not dash around as per usual!
Hope all the poorlies feel better soon and that those travelling for NY are safe

Afternoon All
Really cold and frosty overnight and an unhealthy amount of snow this morning. Thankfully it is raining now so the snow won't hang around for long I hope. We've had so much rain lately that I will have to bring that Ark back out of storage!
DS2 and DP have gone to Cumbria for new year, they left amid a snowstorm but have made it past Glasgow where there's no snow at all. They did lots of cooking before they left and I've just tidied up! I'll meet them at Glasgow airport on Tuesday to collect my car and they can get home - DS2 starts a new job on Wednesday.
There's still enough food here for another couple of weeks, we had friends round last night for a lovely risotto with lots of fresh veg so my tummy is feeling lots better!
Sorry to hear there are still so many poorly folk here, hope you get well soon. Take care. XX8 -
Rain ,rain go away! I went for a walk yesterday afternoon, only just turned the corner when it started again.Seems dry at the mo so I may venture again. Pooch had a shortened one this morning, she doesn't like the rain either. DH wanted a chippy lunch, but the 3 he tried were all shut. Made do with pate on toast :0We are having chicken on flatbreads for tea. Still pottering at home, not doing much, I've started a new library book. Our main library has been shut for over a year having a grand renovation. The temporary one is actually handier for me, but is shutting shortly before the grand reopening mid January so I want to return it before that.We won't be going out tomorrow night as fireworks are always loud here, we do have some sedatives provided by the vet so hope that helps our old girl.Continuing well wishes for the poorly and sad xx:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. @RosyRed - the library might prefer it returned when they reopen - so they don't have to move it. That is what our library did - encouraged everyone to take out books ahead of the move and then return them to the new one. Got them into the new library too.
Those of you turning 70 are just spring chickens. A few of us are over 75 now. Still wondering how it happened.3
