This blessed virus is clinging on, early mornings are the worse times and still using a load of hankies but certainly feel less ill. It's very weird.Yesterday I did the quick shopping trip and returned an item to Marks. Getting out for the first time in a week was good even if coughed there and back. I wore a mask in Marks, nit convinced it did any good though it felt the right thing to do. Now my fridge is restocked with enough to get me through until Thursday or Friday. No plans for today apart from buying a bottle of wine for the Bells and taking away the recycling. Coming to the end of another year is almost scary, time is just running through so fast. I find it difficult to realise my age, 70 next year, and look back to my earlier life. It's sobering. And cheery too!
Right, need to start moving more than my chest muscles. Hugs to the sad and poorly. Extra hugs if you're both.10 -
Hi Gers,
We made it to Yorkshire, woohoo. Steve's infection markers are back to normal but he's still frustrated by the slow progress.
The family arrived at midnight and I am currently sitting with Esben while he does a scratch art picture that he got for Christmas. He's very good at sitting and crafting for ages. We do a lot together but luckily he doesn't need any help with this one, he's totally engrossed
It's raining here so I don't know what we will do today. All the local pantos are sold out but it might be worth trying for returns. Esben watched the ceebeebies panto and now wants to see a live one.
Have a good day.12 -
Morning all. Still very grey here and I keep reading rumours of snow. They can stay rumours, as far as I'm concerned.
We had a lovely day yesterday with family and friends round. A lot of food was eaten and we finally managed last year's Christmas pudding. There's a choice of leftover chilli or chicken curry for the next couple of days and then we're out for a walk and pub lunch on NYD.
I must now concentrate on finding a gift for DH's birthday, which is near the beginning of January. To that end I'll pop over to one of his favourite shops in Stony Stratford this morning and check through their shirts.
I'm with you on the age thing Gers but found I've adjusted amazingly well and keep saying to the offspring "but I'm old now y'know!" Not that I believe it for one minute
Happy last weekend of the year.13 -
Morning folks and thanks GERS. You sound to be getting there slowly. Sadly we can't rush these blooming bugs.
As yet there is no wind and rain battering us but heavy rain is due mid morning. Where is it all coming from! I have nothing to go out for so I am staying in the best place. But I must cut back on this constant eating and slobbing about I am doing.. I will shortly be resembling the big fat goblin in Dr. Who! I shall be glad when life is back to normal come the new year.
My SIL rang me yesterday after the visit from the undertaker. DB's funeral will be the 15th which is a bit sooner than I expected with Xmas and NY intervening. There is still no movement with DN's baby.
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, sad or bereft. Take care all and be safe xx

Still with family enjoying twixmas. I’ve nearly finished the knitting I have brought and making some inroads into my reading pile. Also managing a nap most afternoons. I feel ready to go back to work but I think the rest is doing me good. I’m cutting down my coffees to one a day while I’m here with no stress and it’s going well. We’ll see if I can keep that going once back to normal life. I’m cooking pizza for everyone tonight.13

Hello all, it's dark and damp underfoot but dry today so that's a bonus. I got everything done that I needed to do yesterday and a load went into the wm, plus my xmas tablecloth. Hopefully it's all dry this morning and everything can be put away.
I feel rubbish this morning with a tickly throat, dry cough and aching all over so I hope it passes quickly as I have a hospital appointment on Tues which I need to go to. Today there will be lots of sofa sitting with a cwtchy blanket and drinking some hot honey and lemon. I just want to know which one of you gave me your germs, I know it's good to share but ......😂
Hugs to the poorly ones, get well soon. Many hugs to the sad or lonely too.
Take care all

。❅*⋆⍋*∞*。*∞*⍋⋆*❅。
Sleigh bells ring, are you listening?
In the lane, snow is glistening
A beautiful sight
We're happy tonight
Walking in a winter wonderland
。❅*⋆⍋*∞*。*∞*⍋⋆*❅。Morning! It's weeing down! But that's ok because I'm not going out anywhere OH did go out last night and came home 3 sheets to the wind...I may start making some inroads on wrapping presents being as everything was delayed and they're just sitting there. Still got lurgy, it's a gift indeed...Other than that, I forsee a day of playing games and getting up quite often to ease my aching behind from sitting down too long...Gers, oh dear, I feel your rib aching pain. And your existential crisis. ...snoozer, yay! you got there! TA, not slobbing, grieving...Izzy, well, you deserve a piece of cake for that! In Appril? SO, are you getting help to overcome that? I hope so...Nanny, pssst, I'm blaming Gers, [well, she's all over Scotland isn't she? ]Take care all....Shampoo? No thanks, I'll have real poo...12 -
Good morning everyone. Wet and grey here, I can't believe how much rain has fallen recently.
I too, like Gers, will be 70 in the new year and wonder where the years have gone. I can remember my nana turning 70 and thinking gosh that's old and now here am I , almost there.
Silver oldie I hope that you are alright and that the small steps you are able to take are helping at such a difficult time.
Thoughts are with the poorlies, wishing you a speedy recovery and those who have family and friends having difficult times.
Take care xx10 -
Morning all
Up early and took the dogs out before the rain started I’m glad we did as it’s pouring down now, OH will take them for another quick one later.
Just having some tea and then need to sort out the bedroom it still has my presents in a pile up there so need to sort them and also go through my socks and get rid of some old ones, I must have as many socks as Gers has knickers 😂 I only get good socks which cost a bit more so I am loath to get rid of them but some of the old ones are wearing thin so they need to go to make room for my new ones I got for Christmas.
My bedside cabinet needs sorting too as that has become a dumping ground, and also I need to sort my wardrobe which has far too many things in that I don’t wear so I’m going to be ruthless !
I hope all the poorly ones are on the mend xx
Have good days all and take care xx10
