" We’re making some changes to Clubcard Christmas Savers for 2024

Top-ups will only be available from 26 December 2023 to 1 April 2024. Between these dates, you can still top up to a maximum of £360 and receive up to a £12 bonus on us* "
I will not be participating in 2024! Previously you could buy your top-ups as late as October 18 giving you a £6 bonus on a £100 spend and use about a month later. Lets hope the other supermarkets are not so mean with their Xmas 2024 schemes!

Had email yesterday from Tesco saying that from April we can no longer pay into the Christmas savers scheme, no explanation as to why. It was a good scheme to help out with the cost of Christmas, a life saver for cash strapped families I expect. One of the reasons for shopping at Tesco was this scheme.

I used to get them from my energy company before they went bust. Not found anywhere else I can get them.
I have left the Clubcard Christmas Saver now as there is little going for it.

It's still quite useful as a way of preventing vouchers from being issued too regularly - useful if you prefer to save up and go for bigger redemptions.

I wonder why Tesco have done this - I suspect they might be planning to move to a more straightforward 'top up a gift card' arrangement as most of their competitors have implemented already.

Paying £200 in just before April 1st & having £212 in November is equivalent to around 8%pa guaranteed return. As I can't get an 8% return anywhere now and as interest rates continue to fall I shall be taking advantage of this offer.

Tesco will have decided they need to cut costs & improve profitability and this will be contributing to the plan.

My wife and I have been regular users of the Tesco Christmas Savers top up scheme since it started. I have received an email informing me that they are stopping this scheme on the 1st April 2024. I find this very disappointing as it was a great way to save for Christmas, as you got your savings, which was boosted by up to £12 if you saved £200 or more ( giving you a yield of 6% which you would never get at a bank or savings account ), plus all your Clubcard vouchers you have accrued over the year. At the time a of this Cost of Living Crisis we are in I think it is a kick in the teeth for people like us that have to budget carefully for Christmas.
I have contacted Tesco and I am awaiting a reply.
Is there any way Martin Lewis can look into this as my single voice will I suspect have very little impact.

Tesco have now upped the bonus to £17 on £200 deposit. That equals around 15% return. Best offer I've seen all week.
