Ended up being, at DHs request, spag Bol. Need to add onions to my shopping list.
Tomorrow is bacon rashers from the freezer and half baguettes for bacon rolls. Might add eggs too. That will take care of dinner. Think I have covid so not looking to make cordon blue dinner for a few days 🤣🤣.Looking to make some kind of list holder for the fridge so I can keep my shopping list there and add to it as needed. Just remembered DH has some magnets and bit black clips….I also have a ton of paper off cuts from printing packing labels last year. No spend at all. Win win!!Enjoy your weekend everyone, please keep the ideas a coming cos they brilliant! xSaving 1 animal wont change the world - but it will change the world for that 1 animal

Minimised more Xmas cheese and crackers tonight when we had a late cheeseboard. Also used up half finished chocolate and marshmallows baking with neicelets. They are leaving tomorrow and taking a big stash of biscuits and cake in a pretty tin. They love the tin as it's one of the music box ones. We don't need it so win win.
Mending planned tomorrow when the visitors leave. Have some sewing mends to do, buttons etc7 -
Fleece I had acquired needed a hand sew by cuff, machine sew to re attach the kangaroo pocket. De- bobbled it with the Aldi gadget. Sadly it was not my size so delivered to a charity shop- it looked as good as new.Being polite and pleasant doesn't cost anything! --
Many thanks

Evening folks.
Doing ok with the minimizing and making do…..not so great with the mending. Although today I took my boots to the cobblers to be have the heels redone, technically he mended them, but I’m going to take it anyway, and also as a make do as I resisted buying new boots despite been tempted by the sales.
minimising, I made a list of make up and toiletries, I’m amazed how they have accumulated and will not be buying more until I’m down to the last one. I also cleared out some old towels and bedding that I had replaced but saved ‘just in case’ , they are still in good condition and are been collected in the morning by a lady in my zero waste group who is supporting families who are really struggling.Well Behaved women seldom make history

I’ve got an airing cupboard that is screaming at me for some attention. I know there is some old duvet covers and other material in there that needs to be married up to my other fabric stash. That should make a bit of room, and make it tidier and easy to access.
Does any one else accumulate duvets? I don’t mean the covers, I mean the big double bed size duvets? Too good to throw away so I am going to make a comforter for downstairs and another for my bed. That will use some of my fabric stash too hopefully.Saving 1 animal wont change the world - but it will change the world for that 1 animal

Yes, we also have a collection of duvets, different sizes, different weights. All too good to go.So the extra ones sit up there , rolled or folded up, on the top shelves of our walk-in dressing room.I’ve taken up your great idea of a granny square jacket, a longish one to keep the draughts out. I sorted out the wool ply plies ? last night and have made a start .Thanks for the tip.12

Make Do/Minimise - 6 portions of soup made using chopped celery and bacon bits from the freezer. A few lunches sorted for this week and pennies saved.
Minimise - DH has recently lost quite a bit of weight and now has lots of clothes that are far too big for him. It may take some time (he's a reluctant de-clutterer) but I've persuaded him to have a sort out and so far he's given 3 jumpers and 2 sweatshirts to DS as well as binning several pairs of holey socks.
Mend - Another jumper got the de-bobbling treatment on the sleeves.
Minimise/Mend - I'm currently using up some oddments of 4-ply yarn from my stash to knit a jumper for myself. There wasn't quite enough of the main colour so I'm adding some alternating narrow and wider stripes in other colours to make up the shortfall and think it will look quite effective - mainly light beige with off-white and rust coloured stripes.Be kind to others and to yourself too.12 -
I mended the velcro on OH's fencing jacket - waiting for my fingertips to recover from that (2-3 layers of tough material + sticky-backed velcro) before I start on the waistcoat.
Used up a lot of leftovers - potato wedges, mushrooms and half an onion with the remains of the stuffing from Xmas - into a Spanish omelette. Enough left to do me lunch tomorrow. Also, tonight is turkey saute with one of the remaining bags of turkey (from the freezer) and probably the last of the Xmas cake.

Minimised the veg drawer and made broccoli and cheese soup, plus aubergine parmigiana for the week.
Mended a cushion and made a pair of old jeans into a barista style apron. Also mended a pair of trousers and can wear them for work again.
Back to work tomorrow. Have a good evening everyone8
