What a palaver each morning! It's been just over two weeks now so I'm hoping that all the small improvements gather speed and I'm finally better for New Year. 🤞🤞I had another quiet day yesterday though the noise of the winds and driving rain more than made up for it. It was another awful day, we are having a slight respite today before a new band of torrential rain comes in on Saturday and Sunday. My plan for today is to head out for some shopping, I've used up everything from the fridge.I hope that my fellow poorlies are improving. Hugs to the sad.11

Hi Gers,
I just checked to see if there was another thread but it seems not so everyone must be having a lie-in.
We still don't know if we'll be travelling today, part of Steve's results came through but not the infection markers so hopefully they'll be through today. He seems to be a bit better each day though so we might go up anyway.
Yesterday was another quiet day although we went out to a local pub for lunch which was lovely, we had salad for dinner which was nice and easy.
Have a good day.13 -
Morning folks and thanks GERS. It's good to hear you are slowly on the mend. We are having a respite from the wind and rain here too but it's due back mid morning. Then later the showers could turn wintry, so the weatherman says. Oh what joy!
I managed to ram lots of leftovers in the freezers yesterday but I really should make an attempt to sort the freezers out now. Nothing is where it's supposed to be and I can't find anything. The fridge, on the other hand, is looking a bit depleted now compared to how it looked but there's no rush to restock it just yet.
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, recovering or sad and bereft. Take care all, be safe xx

Thank you for the start Gers
Sorry I haven't much to say.
Haven't seen or spoken to anyone.
Put quite a bit of food into the freezer so it won't go to waste.
Weather is dry so I might try another walk.
Take care

Morning all. Dull but dry here atm. I feel so sorry for those of you further north who have had such dreadful weather and are now anticipating more. Whenever I see the Scottish problems on the news I think of Gers - although I know she doesn't cover the whole country
Today we are having friends round for a late lunch plus DD and family so I need to get prepared for the onslaught. I made a large chilli yesterday and will do butter chicken curry in a while - only using sauce from a jar mind! It will be good to catch up with them all and our friends are going to be grandparents for the first time next year so they can get their hands back in with 12 week old DGS.
Will leave you now - look after yourselves.12 -
Morning all, bit of blue sky and no rain yet. The wind was ferocious last night, we had to move some beers etc. stored on the table outside, I was worried the table would blow over.Had a nice late lunch at the Italian, then did a bit of shopping, bumped into DS2 & DGD who were out spending some of her Christmas money. We all went in B0ots and managed a quick word with DN too, she works there in her spare time, she's training to be a teacher. We didn't want any tea, just had some cheese and crackers later. DGS has gone away for a few days.Nothing much happening today, we have a match we can watch later on, and no doubt I'll be moving more food around, I feel your pain TA, it's so annoying when you know you have something in the freezer, make a mess trying to find it, and so it goes on...S-O hope you manage to talk to someone today, a walk is a good start ((hugs)). Even better with a dog as people usually stop and have a word . Although our pooch is so big a few people do cross the road when they see us comingTea tonight will be the kebabs we didn't eat last night, easy meal anyway.Take care all x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. Morning all
Dry here for the moment but rain due later and then all weekend, DD has just gone to meet her friend and baby and is then doing a sleep in at work, poor thing has worked most of Christmas although she does have a lot of time off in January.
Yesterday was lovely they had the service in a hall in Richmond park overlooking the parklands and it was so moving there was tea and cake and sandwiches wine / beer and then we all went to the pub which was my uncles favourite afterwards and had a meal there it was a lovely day full of good memories.
Onto today I need to have a good clean through and prepare my invoices for sending next week, dinner tonight will be a fish fest I think, we have prawns, smoked salmon, some anchovies from Venice and some Tuna in glass jars from Greece, I will do a tomato salad and some crusty bread with it
I Hope everyone recovers soon from various illnesses x
Have good days all and take care xx10 -
Morning all, well we've already got another batch of hammering rain. It hasn't seemed to stop !
The rollator has a new seat so it only needs a brake/wheels check now. I also had a visitor yesterday, our young next door neighbour bringing us a box of biscuits. She stayed and we chatted for over an hour, then on leaving she said she had enjoyed the lovely chat with me, which was nice, but then followed it with " You remind me of my nan" Er What 😲 Deflation in one fell swoop !
Today I need to crack on with the tidying, the dining room this time as it needs to be put back to normal because I have the hamsters coming this weekend, 3 cages of them.
Hugs to the poorly or sad ones.
Take care all
