Defective car parts...

Yes, that's why I came here because I know nothing about consumer rights or whether I have a viable case to make a claim. From my brief and limited research on trading laws I was not at all clear on my position but from that research there were a few items I needed more clarity on (i.e. the inconvenience, stress, etc.) I thought I might find that clarity here. However, my ultimate focus is on the consequential costs to make good the damage caused by an item not fit for purpose. From our brief interaction though, I can see there's little to no point in continuing as you consider pursuing this to be hopeless.
Thank you for your input. It just goes to show how us ordinary folk have no chance really. You need to be versed in the law just to buy a car part. Quite disappointing.0 -
Interesting to note, CAB take quite a different view of this. It's hard to know who to believe!0

It's not a question of knowing who to believe, there are multiple valid viewpoints. Ultimately, if this ends up in court, what people here or at CAB think is irrelevant. It will be down to the court to decide on the day.0 -
That's because most of the replies here are incorrect in my view, you are entitled to seek damages.MrKieron said:Interesting to note, CAB take quite a different view of this. It's hard to know who to believe!
Whilst CAB isn't always a reliable source it would be interesting to hear what they said OP
