  • I find with medical insurance that you pay for what you get.

The proof of the eating will come if you want to make a claim.
  • Hi

I have pre-existing conditions and many companies wouldnt touch me to travel to the USA/long haul a couple of years ago. We found one finally for £155 just for me....shocking! They sent me the paperwork with T&C's and I checked through thoroughly and there were no nasty bits:rolleyes: The excess was £50 which wasnt too bad.

Got a good deal with OH & DD though:D

I contacted many companies and given quotes based on my medical condition but was not offered a "medical screening". Covermytravels gave me a reference number and I had to phone a Medical Screening Company. I went through a questionnaire and was offered the insurance. When I received the policy it actually stated on the Policy I was covered for A1 Heart and Asthma conditions Worldwide including USA £50 excess. at £65.70 for an annual policy.

I have managed to get annual insurance , just for Europe, for my husband with a £200 loading. The company wouldn't insure him for America. However a cost of £280 for the 2 of us for annual insurance is better than i hoped for.
  • :T Could anyone help me. I have just managed to get my parents to travel with us to Florida however they have both had heart attacks, angina and my mother is in a wheel chair with arthritis. I have had quotes from £242 to £5006.00.each. Does anyone know of somewhere that insures without paying the earth.

Hi I have traveled abroad a number of times in the last few years, and had my insurance with the post office but because I have a pacemaker fitted I had to take out the extra medical insurance, which the post office sorted out for me, it cost me an extra £28 so get a quote from them.

Must agree with this - we use Saga, made a claim two years ago for around $30,000. No fuss, no problems, they paid everything. We both had declared pre-existing conditions.
We have insured twice since then with them, no apparent loading - maybe not the cheapest around but we can trust them when they are needed.
