PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING: Hello Forumites! In order to help keep the Forum a useful, safe and friendly place for our users, discussions around non-MoneySaving matters are not permitted per the Forum rules. While we understand that mentioning house prices may sometimes be relevant to a user's specific MoneySaving situation, we ask that you please avoid veering into broad, general debates about the market, the economy and politics, as these can unfortunately lead to abusive or hateful behaviour. Threads that are found to have derailed into wider discussions may be removed. Users who repeatedly disregard this may have their Forum account banned. Please also avoid posting personally identifiable information, including links to your own online property listing which may reveal your address. Thank you for your understanding.

If he was employed by a company, could you write to them explaining the situation and ask them to send a letter on? Enclose a stamped envelope and leave the letter open, so they can check they are not getting into anything 'legal'.
You need him to contact the court not necessarily you.0 -
When the house was sold, do you know if he had a solicitor? If so, could you write to them and explain the situation and ask them to get him to contact the Court?

The Salvation Army offer a family tracing service. If you feel that having an intermediary would help in re establishing contact.

You were with this person for over ten years. It seems incredible you aren't able to contact somone who is still in touch with him who will pass a message on. His parents, best friend, brother, sister, cousins, school friends, work colleges, the pub he used to frequent. Just last night I found somone via a social media search who I shared a house with for a few months 40 years ago in my first year at college. You may not be find your ex directly, but surely you can think of somone from his wider circle ?1
