Hey all,
I'm visiting NYC with the OH in Feb. Flights are booked so just need to sort a hotel. We are looking to spend around the 150 dollar mark per night. Will be staying 6 nights.
Are there any you highly recommend we check out or any to avoid? Only ever used booking dot com are there any better sites I should be using?
Ideally want a private bathroom and seen a few compact hotels like pod something or other and it looks like you share the bathroom with other guests...I may be wrong tho.
Thanks

I’ve stayed at the YMCA Westside. Bunk beds and en-suite bathroom. It was many years ago when I stayed. Room was small, clean and is a great location, should be in your budget. Also on booking.com0

Google maps is good for searching a wide area.
In February you should be able to pick up decent prices, just be aware many advertised prices exclude local taxes and hotel compulsory daily service charges and these can stack up.1 -

I stayed in one of the pod hotels Pod 51) and it was fantastic- yes shared bathrooms but they were amazingly clean and they had a light system in your room so you could see when they were free. They were great with directions and tips for places to eat and see etc. would definitely recommend, don’t let the shared bathroom put you off. You are likely to be out and about all day every day you are there so really don’t need a giant hotel room.Debt free as of 2 October 2009
Mortgage free as of 27 March 20240 -

I don't think Pod hotels are exclusively shared bathrooms. DD1 always stays there and they have showers in the room. They're tight on space but clean and comfortable. I can't remember which one but it's close to Bloomingdales. 🤔
ETA - it's Pod 51 and they have bathrooms in double rooms.0 -
Look at Citizen M, Hyatt Place, Moxy, Holiday Inn express. Jersey City hotels can be good value if you aren't bothered about using the Subway.Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0
