。❅*⋆⍋*∞*。*∞*⍋⋆*❅。
Dashing through the snow
In a one-horse open sleigh
O'er the fields we go
Laughing all the way
Bells on bobtails ring
Making spirits bright
What fun it is to ride and sing
A sleighing song tonight
Jingle bells, jingle bells
Jingle all the way
Oh, what fun it is to ride
In a one-horse open sleigh, hey
。❅*⋆⍋*∞*。*∞*⍋⋆*❅。Morning! My ribs are now screaming form the coughing and blowingg, so nothing again for me today. Had a disappointment yesterday, the fridge foze everything in it which means I can't refreeze the beef I cut up so carefully, the trifle is now horrible and hard or soft where it shouldn't be. Thank goodness for christmas pud, which I will have instead...And I can always make the cream into butter because it goes weird and dry or crumbly.. everything else canbe used as normal anyway, including the sprouts when they deforst, so not too bad.TA< glad she seems ot be coping ok, but to be honest, the first couple of weeks you don't have time to do anything between all the appointments, you're kept really busy, and Christmas in between etc, probably better than having time to sit and think..Ruby you were lucky with the chimney, what a good neighbour! With the central heating, do you remember those little ceramic things that used ot hang on radiators with water in them to mositen the air again? Gers, yah, havign water all over your face when your nose is runny is just horrible...I feel your hanky munching pain..bella, I know you'll miss them but you can catch up on some sleep! snoozer, hope you get the results in time for Yorkshire...Izzy, glad to see you've slowed down a bit for Christmas SO, yeah, blow them cobwebs away! Or watch out something doesn't get blown away in this weather! Nanny, if your dad doesn't notice you've left him a dinner , being deaf is not the probem Hope you all have good memeories of her, it's got to be hard for the children though...Take care folks, do what you can for yourself and others...Shampoo? No thanks, I'll have real poo...10 -
Morning all, I've been busy this morning sorting leftovers etc. I had more than I should due to DS2 & kids not staying for tea the other day as I'd planned a 2nd Xmas dinner as requested by DGD. Mind you, he has 'popped in' and made a turkey & stuffing butty most days I've just made a litre bottle of milk into rice pud in my instant pot, that's cooling down & some can be frozen, and I've cooked the 4 large Bramleys. I had a lot of veg outside, some of the 15p bargains, but discovered the driving rain had found it's way into the tub I was keeping it all in so last night had to rinse and dry it all off, and it's now in the cellar until I can deal with it.It seems ok but the garlic and some onions had shed a layer of skin I don't know why I've never thought about putting it down there, a friend suggested it yesterday!Shame about the fridge Taff, and the fire RRGood to see you post Silver-Oldie, hope you don't get blown away on your walkDH has suggested we go to the retail park & have some lunch at the little Italian there. Fine by me! I could do with some bread rolls and wouldn't mind a look in the Marks there.I bet sales in tissues have rocketed the past couple of weeks. Hope Steve's infection ( and everyone elses ) is clearing Snoozer and you make it to Yorkshire. Take care everyone x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)9

Hi everyone and thanks for the start @Gers - hope you feel better soon and best to forego the swimming and ex partner!!!
I am now Covid free - yay! Just typical that it struck when it did but never mind. We are hosting NYE so will make the most of that time with friends and family. It's use up Christmas meat pie today - looking forward to that now my tastebuds are working again.
So scary about the chimney @RedRuby1231 - glad your neighbour spotted it. Hope today goes as well as it can x
Hugs to you @TravellingAbuela - it's never easy losing someone close but especially painful at Christmas xx
Hope Steve's results enable you to get away to Yorkshire @snoozer - fingers crossed for you x
Get well soon @-taff x
Good to see you posting @silver-oldie - sending hugs to you xx
Sorry I know I've missed folk. Wishing everyone a good day.

Still wild and wet in the Midlands - thunder last night too. Have retrieved various strewn items from the garden, reported 4 fallen trees to the council and had my broken tooth (actually just the filling) repaired.Barney 🐶 is not a fan of high wind, and I live near a forest so walking is much curtailed today. There still seem to be things to tidy from Monday and I’ve made some chicken stock which I’ll use with all the leftover and bendy veg for some soup.Anyone got any ideas for sprouts? Got a bagful and we don’t eat many ‘meat’ dinners…….maybe sliced and stir fried is the best option.AA9

Good afternoon everyone. I hope that those suffering from the dreaded lurgy soon start to feel better, it can hang around for such a long time. Very wet and windy yesterday and more of the same today although there has been some blue sky in between.
I will have to go and bale out in the greenhouse at some point, I must remember to stand well back as I open the door to avoid the tidal wave that might sweep me away. My wellies will definitely be needed.
As usual thinking about the poorlies, those who are caring for someone and those who have lost a loved one.
Take care all xx

Allie, these are really good, I saw them on one of the programmes when he was cooking outside and I tried it, it's tastes very meaty without any meat...but I wouldn't cook them very long so they're stilla bit al denteRed cross, Unfortunately, there's nowhere for mine to drain so it just sits there like a baby swimming pool...It does annoy the ants under the trays though so that's ok...
Shampoo? No thanks, I'll have real poo...6 -
Taff- same problem here with drainage.Just come in & taken off my fisherman's friend mac, my yellow marigolds & leopard print wellies. Filled 9 buckets & still some left. My late DH's standard fuchsias are the problem, fortunately I did stand them on bricks so just about avoided wet roots for them up to now.
Does Monty Don have these problems?6 -
Not in his greenhouse but definitely on his land
