Refreshed!Yesterday was another quiet day, apart from the sound of me barking like a seal at frequent intervals. I managed to strip the bed and put on new bedding but only with stops to breathe / cough / blow my nose. Leftover veggies were eaten and a DW load done. The WM will go on tomorrow. My ex phoned from his trip way up north, I think he was angling to come to stay overnight but I headed him off. Just not in the mood even if I could have used him for a techy problem I have. 😀
I've cancelled my pool session for today again, second week, as I couldn't cope with it. My food will be something from the freezer.10 -
Morning folks and thanks GERS. I hope you soon start picking up, you have been unwell for ages. I was like you last year - I was struck down at DD's on Christmas Day and whatever bug it was dragged on all through January. I thought I was going to be ill forever and eventually needed a/b's for a chest infection as a grand finale.
Another stupid night for me listening to the wind and rain, waiting for the roof to blow off!! I didn't put the recycling bin out last night, in case it took off, but I have just been out and groped about in the darkness so it's now out and awaiting the bin men. I think next job will be sorting the fridge out and freezing what I can and using up what I can't.
I rang SIL last night and she still sounds to be coping ok. She had spent a lot of time at younger DD's (my DN) who is still hanging on to her imminent baby. So watch this space on that! SIL has the undertaker coming Friday, at last, so hopefully she will then be able to make plans for DB's funeral. All the bank hols are slowing everything down as expected. I still can't accept that I will never see him again.
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for the poorlies, recovering or sad and bereft. SILVER OLDIE and REDCROSS thinking of you. Take care all, be safe xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"10 -
Morning all
We are due heavy rain and wind today it does look gloomy out there, we are off to London today for the memorial service of my uncle who passed away before Christmas, they had a closed cremation for him but are doing a service in Richmond Park with tea and sandwiches in the cafe afterwards, then those that want can go to the pub for a drink afterwards, we may not stay for the pub will see how we feel.
The chimney sweep is coming this morning so all being well we should be able to light the fire tonight, it’s not that same without it on we don’t really like the central heating as it seems too dry somehow.
Not sure about dinner tonight will see what we fancy later, I froze the leftover meat yesterday so there is enough for another two meals in there, the dogs also had all the end bits so they were happy.
Hugs to all those that need one xx
Have good days all and take care xx10 -
Hi everyone,
I hope you all had good Christmases. We had a very quiet time with Chris and Crystal which was what we needed. Steve is recovering slowly which is to be expected but frustrating him. He had a blood test yesterday which he had to go to Bedford for, the Dr told him they would have the details electronically but seemingly not so we had to drive to our health centre to pick up a form (8 miles each way). Very frustrating.
We were supposed to be travelling to Yorkshire today but we have to wait for Steve's blood test results to make sure his infection is still reducing so we are probably going up tomorrow so long as the results are ok. I was going to take the decs down but have decided to leave them now in case we don't go. The cleaner is coming today so she'll have to work round them.
Gers, I hope you continue to improve.
TA, take care of yourself.
Have a good day.11 -

Morning all.
Slow starts here atm as DH still hasn't got a lot of energy post Covid. I need to go to the SM for food bits as we have friends coming tomorrow for lunch. Plan to make the chilli today and then reheat tomorrow.
Other than that I have the usual household chores to do but must get out to look for a card and new baby present for DH's new great nephew.
Take care everyone.9 -
Good morning, thanks for the start Gers.
Thank you all for your kind thoughts, they really mean so much
It's dry today so I'll try and have a walk.
Take care

Morning all, it was scarily windy last night but thankfully it's calmed down a bit now.
Yesterday the postlady arrived sopping wet poor thing, as did our post and I had to dry both hospital appointment letters, one for each of us, a late xmas card and a 'vanning mag, before they were opened as they were all stuck together. The fridge was sorted too and everything still edible was bagged and frozen ready for eating at a later date.
This morning we were out early for Mr Fix It's date with the vampire nurse, then we called in Dad's to collect his new (to him) rollator as Mr Fix It wants give it a service and an MOT before Dad takes it for a spin. I have a key so I left a cooked dinner and 3 onions (he wants to make himself a stew) in the kitchen as he was still asleep. He's so deaf without his hearing aid that a herd of wild elephants running through the house wouldn't wake him. I'll ring him later to tell him that I've been as he probably won't notice. I also collected someone's recycling and put it back in it's box as it was strewn outside our house and in the drive. The street looked like a war zone with all the bins over and recycling everywhere !
Right I'm waffling now so I'll shut up !
Sorry I forgot to say "hello" to the new posters. Please keep posting. Hugs to the poorly ones and those missing loved ones. We missed DNeice this xmas, she was a larger than life lady and you knew when she was around !
Take care all
