Tax return

1) Last year I used Box 18 to claim uniform at work expenses but I can't find it on the online return (I've Google it as well) - any ideas how to generate the "other expenses" schedule?

2) The benefits are stated as "Entered" but are blank - is this correct? I thought HMRC included the P11D expenses already?

  • Not sure about the number 18 but you have to say ‘Yes’ to the ‘Do you wish to claim any expenses’ box? At this point a new set of options appear. 

    I have never known the benefits section to be pre-populated.

    On P11D sections, I've never had to fill it in in years. It's odd.

     I thought it would be in this section - in employment benefits and expenses.

    You need to go back to ‘tailor your return’ To access the section you have shown you must have selected ‘Did you RECEIVE any expenses etc…’ You need to choose CLAIM not receive.

    At 11.00 and 13.00 on this (rather annoying) tutorial.
