Carers allowance and DLA

Hi everyone. My grandads social worker has told me that I should claim carers allowance for looking after him, she said it won’t affect his current DLA and mobility payments but I’m not convinced? He gets highest rate DLA and highest mobility. Thank you to anyone who can help. X

Then he'll be entitled to it based on the information you gave. It can also be backdated to the date he became entitled to it, assuming he was claiming mid/high rate care at that time.
