Hi guys I'm with Octopus, have an electric vehicle, run the usual dishwasher, washing machine etc on the cheap night rate. But over a year ago when i had the smart meter installed and you get given one of these silly little displays apparently the displays can't cope with showing a seperate night rate usage in £s? Or is there a display you can buy that does that?
Thankyou for any info Happy New Year

That will provide you with the data and up to date pricing you need.1 -

Or is there a display you can buy that does that? The short answer is no, the in-home displays don't handle multi-rate credit tariffs well. (They cope better if you're a prepayment customer.)The Octopus Home Mini will give you live energy use data in the Octopus app, but even that doesn't always get the cost of multi-rate electricity correct.Happy New Year to you, too

As a high user (circa 50-60kWh per day for electric) I wanted something a bit more useful.
Or is there a display you can buy that does that?

The picture on that link does it no favours as it just shows one screen which happens to the the most basic. However, you can cycle through a range of pages and the one I use shows current draw, the last 24 hours broken down by 30 minute segments, daily, weekly and monthly use to date. Like below
It works with our economy 7 and correctly calculates the rate/time. Personally, I focus on kWh rather than monetary values.

So your smart meter is still 'smart', it's just the IHD that is an issue.Bit of a misleading title.
