Hoover parts guarantee

I bought a Hoover washer dryer for £459 in Feb 2022. It has been used sensibly with very little drying and only one adult and a child's washing. It had one year warranty and a 10 year parts guarantee.

In Oct the electrics started playing up. I've had two visits from Hoover engineer who replaced various parts but new faults kept showing. They ordered new parts on 20th Nov and I was told these would be fitted in a week or two.

5 weeks later and I'm getting the run around from Hoover. I've been twice told the parts are waiting to be fitted and I'll get a text that day with an appointment. Didnt happen either time. When I emailed a complaint just before Christmas I was told the parts are out of stock and if not available in 2 weeks I *might* get a small discount to buy a new machine but as its out of warranty it's basically tough luck otherwise.

Is that correct? If not what can I do to resolve this? I absolutely don't want to buy a new Hoover machine but it sounds like that's the only option to get any money back.

I don't feel a 20 month lifespan with parts unavailable meets what would be expected.

Who did you buy it from?

Separately and in addition to any warranty you have consumer rights through the seller.

Have you told the company you bought it from that you have a problem? Basically they have one chance to get it repaired, if it fails again you can demand a refund which can be reduced according to the amount of use you have had.
Realistically you could expect to be offered about £300 since it is about 2 years old.
