MESSAGE UPON OPENING A FILE?

I've recently bought a new PC and have entered my Libre office files via a memory stick.
the files are there on my new PC, but upon selecting the file there is a box which comes up with the following message:
"Default file formats not registered"

"The following files not registered to be opened by default in Libre office.ods"

"Select OK if you want to change default file registrations"

Then a "tick box" "perform check on start up."then two box's with either cancel or ok

Can any member help and explain what I should do and why, sorry if my query seems very basic and simple to experienced teckie guys but difficult for me as a older PC user.

Do you have Libra Office installed on the new PC?

Ah no! My PC is checking all the time because it cannot refer to Libre settings.
Is my assumption about correct?

You need to install Libra Office then right click on the file you want to open and choose open with. Libra Office should be on the list, Then tick the box 'always open with this program'. This should then associate all your Libra Office files then next time it will open with a double click as usual.
