Morning all well its nearly here last few bits to wrap then clean the house feet up and enjoy is the order for today

Hi everyone and thank you taff,

I've got a busy day ahead, culminating in going over to Chris and Crystal's this afternoon. I managed to get all the washing done yesterday and decided on bangers and mash for dinner which made a nice change. The only thing on my list still to do is check the plants for water.

Steve is still slowly getting better but any activity exhausts him and he's still sleeping a lot. He has a blood test on Wednesday to check the infection markers so hopefully that will be good enough to allow us to go up to Yorkshire.

I hope everyone has as happy a Christmas as possible, especially the poorly people, Gers, Coxy et al and the sad, TA and silver-oldie.

Morning All

Thanks for the start taff and thanks for all the Christmas songs and carols.

Spent yesterday cleaning after the little one had been collected, just the kitchen to do. The DW has been on twice already today, thought I had better give all the crockery and glasses a rinse through. Another wash and it should all be done.

Hope all the poorlies are feeling better today and can enjoy the festivities - for those who are sad or alone it really is just another day - cosy up with a glass of wine, some chocolates and the TV and think of happy times past.

I have a couple of things to get, mainly fresh berries as when I went yesterday the date was too short - our main day is Boxing Day when the hoards descend.

DS2's birthday today so will be speaking to him later I hope, they are flying in on Boxing Day and staying a few days before heading to Cumbria for New Year.

Morning folks and thanks TAFF.  How much longer do we have to endure this non-stop rain and battering winds.  Although, as yet, the wind isn't battering quite as bad as it has been. The rubbish blown in the garden from someone's recycling bin is still there waiting for a fine and calm day before I venture out to pick it up.

I had a nice day and evening down at DD's yesterday and it was the usual chaos but it was still enjoyable and took my mind off dwelling on what I can't change. After the busy day I thought I might sleep well last night but I thought wrong. It was another night of tossing, turning and clock watching. DD and family are going to the gathering of all the in-laws this afternoon but I am staying put. I have got  a good selection of picnic bites out to defrost and then I will have a slothful day with my feet up picking at everything and watching rubbish!

Have a good day folks if you can. Thoughts are with our poorlies, poorly loved ones and sad. SILVER-OLDIE ((HUGS)) for you especially.  COXY I hope you soon feel better, SNOOZER's STEVE too. Take care all, be safe xx

Morning everyone I have some prep to do and I’m going to cook the Turkey today I just have the kitchen floor to wash but the house is spotless i bet none of you pop in now you will wait until it’s a tip . I hope everyone is starting to feel better there as been a lot of cough’s and colds flying about I’ve hardly slept only because I couldn’t resist I had a piece of corned beef pie yesterday I have been up all night with heartburn that’s what you get when your eyes are bigger than your belly. Taff thanks for all your carols Snoozer I’m pleased Steve is on the mend and you Gers Silver oldie it’s easy for me to say but do whatever suits you tomorrow it’s only a day and you won’t be on your own i for one will be thinking of you and you will have all your lovely memories to keep you company. Thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing

Morning all

Cold and blustery here but no rain which is nice, tomorrow is meant to rain all day 🙄 we got a lot of housework done yesterday so today we just need to do the bathroom and hoover and mop through downstairs, I have got a load in the wm and I want to wash the cushion covers after.

Ive got the beef out of the fridge to warm up to room temperature before cooking, mum has got the turkey so she will cook that, we are having cold meat with our buffet and I will do a bowl of roast potatoes too so OH can peel the spuds today, I will lay the table ready as well as I don’t want to be doing anything in the morning.

All remaining presents were wrapped yesterday, I have one arriving today and I have one to finish off then wrap today, I bought a blank recipe book and have been writing all of my recipes in it to give to my dd, I have a few more to put in today and there will be some blank pages for her to put anymore in, my friend has a similar one that her mum did and she treasures it as her mum has passed away now, I thought it would be a lovely thing for my dd to keep.

Dinner tonight for OH and I will be steak and chips with stuffed mushrooms and roasted tomatoes, poor dd is going to work at lunch time for a sleep in, it will be the first Christmas Eve that we won’t spend together, but she loves the children she works with so she is looking forward to seeing them open their presents.

Coxy I hope you are feeling a bit better xx

Morning all, it's wet day here too. Today has been designated as a day of cooking and the gammon is already in the slow cooker. I want to change the bedding and get it washed too, then it will be feet up and relax. We are at DD's for lunch tomorrow and we'll take a joint of pork down to go with their turkey, but then everyone will be here on Boxing Day for cold cuts, chips and pickles etc and then later I'll do a buffet tea. 
taff many thanks for all the xmas songs and carols, they've really cheered me up and kept me going.
Lots of hugs for the poorly ones and special thoughts for the sad ones, the MIA's and those reading along but not posting.

DH had a lovely birthday with his brother and family as well as my DD and DGC. Very tiring with all the cooking boy can that family eat !!

DGC slept in this morning and their new little dog was very good as well.

Like a few others I had an up and down night. Have been put on meds for diabetes and my tummy doesn't seem to like them. Hopefully settle down soon 

In case I don't get on tomorrow I wish everyone a Happy Christmas and a peaceful one.
