Accidentally entered gatwick south drop off

Hi I’m after a bit of advice, I picked up some family members from gatwick north early hours this morning and paid before leaving the car park. After leaving north terminal one passenger said that they were hungry and I saw a macdonalds to the right so i exited the roundabout and I headed for it. I followed the road round looking for a sign for macdonalds but there was only one for kfc before a slip road so i carried on and ended up going through gatwick south drop off. I would have been straight out the other side of the drop off fairly quickly if I didn’t have to stop at the zebra crossings. Is this something I could appeal with some success or is it just worth paying the extra £5. Thanks and information would be appreciated.

I just told them the vehicle could not have possibly stopped, based on their entrance and exit timings, and they cancelled the notice.

I called them today, they were not understanding at all. They have said i was in the zone longer than the 90 second grace period (and it makes no difference that I didn’t stop or drop off/collect anyone) which I very much doubt and if I was it would have been because I had to wait for people crossing the road. Should I wait for the penalty charge to come through then contest it.

You PHONED them?!  Don't ever phone a private parking ex-clamper firm.  They aren't reasonable nor there to help consumers.

Should I wait for the penalty charge to come through then contest it.

It's not a 'penalty' but yes. Dead easy 100% win found when you simply search the forum!
