Deed of Variation and r185 form

Hello,
I am dealing with my uncle's estate (intestate) and needing to give the beneficiaries the R185 form to them for income tax purposes.
One of the beneficiaries decided that they want to give their share to their kids using the Deed of Variation. This is all okay and has been done by their solicitor.
It is time to complete the R185 forum for each of the beneficiaries, but not sure how this works for Deed of Variation. From my understanding, the DoV doesn't affect the income tax? Does that the mean the original beneficiary would need the R185 forum and not their kids?
