Accepted an offer but buyer disappeared

Hi, over 3 weeks ago we accepted an offer on our property. The buyers sent a few documents (not all of the requested ones) to the estate agents but have since disappeared! I have about given up on the buyers, the house is still on the market at this stage but a few days back a surveyor came to do a survey, yet the estate agents still can't get in touch with the buyers. We are completely confused here, any advice? Thanks

Have they instructed solicitors? Are the agents sure that they have correct contact details? Paying a surveyor suggests they're serious anyway!2

Do nothing for the moment see what unfolds. Little will happen until the New Year in any event.1

Might simply be away for Christmas.

They have instructed a solicitor, just called the estate agents and they are sure its the correct details they have plus they have been emailing them as well as leaving voicemails. Yup, guess we'll have to wait till the new year and see what happens, thank you!0

Ask your solicitor to check with their solicitor that they have been in contact with them - although if they have instructed it sounds as though they probably have - whether they are speaking to the estate agent isn't all that relevant to be honest, although it is helpful if they do.🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

There's really no excuse for anyone to be "out of touch" any more. There's barely a place on earth they couldn't check email or send a message/SMS/call your EA.
However they've spent money on a surveyor, so they are still in the game. Just likely not high quality buyers.2 -

Op, it’s Xmas, it’s quiet. Have you bought and sold before? It’s really common for it to be like this. The fact they’ve paid for a survey is very good news.2006 LBM £28,000+ in debt.

If they're getting on with the legals and the survey, that's good - it might be nice for them to have a chat with the EA too, but that isn't going to make the process any faster.1

You may find the Estate agent complicates things.
Speak with your solicitor if you want an accurate update.1
