Instead i received this from quidco

This is the only information provided to us from the retailer and I’m sorry we cannot provide any further or more specific details around their decision.
That's it with quidco for me
I have been a customer for 12 years and have been rejected for the last time for no good reason

Would really need to understand your overall process/activities that ended up with you buying via GoCompare.MouldyOldDough said:I have been a customer for 12 years and have been rejected for the last time for no good reason
The "problem" with insurance etc is that clearing cookies, using Private Browsing etc doesn't particularly work as it's obvious if it's a returning customer who's already clicked through via another source.2 -
Quidco are Go Compare's Appointed Representative FCA regulated, if you are due monies then Go Compare The Principal are liable.MouldyOldDough said:I was expecting a £28 payment from go.compare home insurance.

'on this occasion, the retailer has declined your cashback claim stating that Quidco has not been recognised as the referrer for this purchase. This could happen if you used a search engine, comparison site or voucher code site or if you had multiple browser tabs open when purchasing. Due to this, we will not be receiving the commission and we are unable to pass this to you as cashback.
To prevent this happening for future purchases we would advise taking a look at our tracking tips help page here: https://support.quidco.com/en/articles/4126250-tracking-tips-tricks

We understand this is disappointing and want to assure you that our team has done everything possible to attempt to obtain your cashback. As this is the retailer's final decision we are unable to dispute this any further with them".

Formal complaint to Go Compare, then if not resolved on to the Financial Ombudsman.2 -
They've already clarified that the OP isn't owed money.fryedslyce said:

I followed the normal procedures

"followed normal procedures" is insufficient to determine what occurred and how GoCompare have logged another firm is due the commission. As already explained, insurance isn't like other products because there is so much more data to identify you than just your IP or cookies like there would be had you gone to BA.com checked the flight prices and then clicked through from GoCompare to buy.MouldyOldDough said:

I have no idea if this is true or not but was something someone told me (although they are prone to the odd conspiracy theory) - only mentioning in case there is any truth in it.
If you have installed one or more browser extensions that try to find you discount codes, vouchers etc. then in some cases the browser extension might 'steal' the referral link and replace it with its own. This means that even though you came in via a cashback site the actual referral could be logged against a totally different entity.
I don't care about your first world problems; I have enough of my own!4 -
Once I've found a cashback deal I want to take advantage of, I open up a Chrome incognito window, where extensions are disabled, and go through the process of purchasing. I've never had a cashback offer fail to date doing this.IvanOpinion said:I have no idea if this is true or not but was something someone told me (although they are prone to the odd conspiracy theory) - only mentioning in case there is any truth in it.

And when I've done that I check back a couple of days later, and if it hasn't tracked manually add it - and likewise, it's never failed.booneruk said:

QUIDCO are getting much worse at paying. They just keep saying they are chasing and nothing they can do. If they cannot do anything then they should stop trying to get more customers in the same situation.3

And that shows how incognito mode is just Google fooling people.booneruk said:
