Accidentally forgot to cancel my HelloF subscription and they charged me £35 which is annoying and put up my spend this week even though I haven't gone to the shops. more than I would have spent for three meals but never mind. I'll cancel and wait for the next discount offer. Spent another £5 at the corner shop so so far have spent half my weekly grocery budget of £80 and no main food shop. Not started off too well.Grocery challenge:

I would like to join. I am aiming for monthly budget of £250. This is still excessive for me but last year I was averaging £300 because of lack of meal planning, and I would love to slowly move in right direction.12

Hi @elsiepac can I join at £350 please
I don't think I did much in 2022 as work was so hectic that cost control seemed to go out the window. I'm leaving my job at the end of January and taking a break so really need to keep on top of shopping as a big area of spend right now.
I've gone low on my budget this month as I did a big stock up at CostCo before Christmas so don't need any meat or fish, hopefully keeps snacks and extras to a minimum focusing on real food.

Like a lot of people I'm recovering from the excesses of the festive season and determined to get back into good habits. My freezer and cupboards are full and I'm going to concentrate on using what I have before buying anything else.
I'm setting a budget of £250 for the month for 2 adults & 1 child.
I'm hoping to keep spends low in the first few weeks as we have visitors coming to stay at the end of the month and it's nice to have more treaty food then. Good luck everyone!10 -
Good morning! I have just been shopping and spent £24.90 on bits which should mean that I won’t have to spend anything else for the rest of this week and hopefully into next. I have realised that I spend more when I go to the supermarket as I get tempted by the goodies and so called bargains. So for this month I am going to try to use the smaller local shops eg local farm shop, health food shop, refill shop, animal feed shop for dog food etc to see if that actually saves me money. This will be on top of eating out of the pantry and freezers. The freezers are full of homegrown produce from the allotment that needs using before the next season starts. We still have a fair bit still on the allotment such as brussels, parsnips, kale, tree cabbage, celery, winter radishes, carrots & celeriac, so that has to be used up too.Grocery Challenge £2400/Spent £90.73

Good morning. Thank you for all the tomato soup comments. @weenancyinAmerica I was going to try it but when I went in I didn't have the tomatoes I thought I had. I will definitely give a shops own a try but with DD2s eating disorder she can sniff out a change a mile off and don't want to put her off.
Just fetched the click and collect shop. I did accidentally order a gammon for 3 so DH will have to fetch another in the week.
