Good Morning MFW'rs
I forgot to say yesterday, LG wasn't "limited" to a £3 spend on their Easter Egg - within reason, I would have spent more - but they were satisfied with the size of egg, and it just happened that both £land and h3r0n were selling them for £3. I was taken with their thoughtfulness over choosing - we went to £land first, and LG listened to me when I promised that we would come back and get the egg from there, but let's just see what H3r0n have as well, first. I'm finding that LG is willing to listen and make considered choices, as long as a) they feel they are being listened to and can exercise some choice, and b) if I promise something (ie to go back to the other shop if necessary) they know I'll be true to my word. They were itching to spend their money in the worx yesterday. In the end, after various permanent markers 😱had been rejected (by me), and fancy biros that 'allegedly' rub out had been held onto in the hope that the £4 😱 would magically come out of Mumma's purse (that's a no from me….), they satisfied themselves with some colouring pencils that will be used, used, and then used some more 👍
So we've got DH's appt this morning. He's already beginning to worry.
I've reset my April budgets, and have already spent some of the grocery money on Easter eggs and bargains. Possibly a stupid idea to take Easter eggs out of the grocery money, but I'll leave the spend there for the mo. I would like to get some of the Easter veg, but currently this week is topsy turvy, and I'm managing to miss share tables, and supermarkets with equal measure 🙄Still, family comes first.
I should be able to get to the big MrT in the cosmopolitan town across the way whilst DH has his appt.
I can't think of anything else MSE to add.

Good luck to DH this morning. Hopefully because it’s a small area they are interested in it will be quite a quick scan 🤞
Hugs also for the memories of your scan x

Sorry sweetie, I pressed post too soon and then went back to finish the post and ended up deleting the bit about me crying all the way through my scan because I was claustrophobic 😭 I can laugh about it now, but at the time I was scared stiff. There is probably a difference in what they do, but I wish those scanners could be like a 'Polo', where you're being scanned, but not in an way too small, enclosed pod. Sorry, far too stifling, and having to wear a mask was just suffocating.
Thank you for your support for Dh tho 😁

((hugs)) for your experience over your scan. One day perhaps they will invent something that doesn't trigger claustrophobia, I certainly hope so. Meanwhile I hope Mr GP's goes well and they can sort out a fully effective treatment for him.

I once had a panic attack in the MRI as I thought I saw a spider (it was a pencil mark on the ceiling!). My most recent MRIs have been in the big donut types - still noisy, less claustrophobic, but also COLD compared to the cramped coffins…
Hope Mr GP's scan goes well.

Visitors! 😁
Right, so the appt went well. We dropped DH off at the hospital - I am now slightly worried about parking, as due to having cars kissing my booty - again - I had to go further into the site than I intended before dropping DH off, the upshot of that was that I found a second entrance/exit to the hospital, so we did a straight drive thru - if that makes sense. We had to do that twice (last time we had to visit that hospital, I turned around and exited the way I'd come in - again, if that makes sense). So each time today, we were only on-site for something like 3 or 4 minutes (max), and we weren't parked at any point, the engine was still running etc. I did see cameras as I exited, they just didn't seem in the same array as the ones at the main entrance 😬 You are supposed to be allowed to be onsite for up to 30 minutes (I think) to drop off/pick up patients.
Anyway, I am a bit confused as to whether DH actually had a scan. He didn't elaborate, as LG was in the car, and no sense in worrying them. Although DH was early at the hospital, it didn't sound like he 'went in' to the appt any earlier, and he was phoning me at just after 9.20am….. He said he'd talk to me later, although grommets have been mentioned, but my understanding was that the GP was ordering a scan - unless the consultant was sitting looking at the screen whilst DH was in the machine? I mean, ok, so grommets serve a purpose and can aid eardrum issues (have I got that right?), but surely the Drs need to be sure it is 'eardrum' issues they are treating?
Pardon me for not being very enthralled with 'diagnostics' after my current run of luck with health service providers, researchers and analysts.
Whilst DH was at the hozzie, LG and I went to the big MrT on the hill. I got some Easter tatties (Saxon variety), and some brown onions. There were signs limiting customers to 5 products - not too sure if this meant 5 in total, or 5 of each that you wanted/needed. We had 3 onions and 2 tatties. In addition I got some YS'd grapes for 88p instead of £2 😱 I also got celery and Cranberry juice that were on cc special (although I spotted the cranberry juice for 99p in fArmf00ds later 😕)
Once we'd dropped DH back at work, we popped into the little MrL. We got some more tatties (melody), some shallots, carrots, parsnips and a swede. The carrots and parsnips had been slashed further to 4p each - trying to match…….. MrM??? There was a green box left at MrL. Had we not been going on hols, I would probably have bought it. But there were some (more) potatoes in it (tbf I think probably bakers), so I decided on balance, it was worth it £wise, but not timing wise ☹️
We were the right side of town to go to fArmfoods. Luckily they had olive oil back in stock, I also stocked up on tinned beans, a tray of tinned tomatoes (which I mistakenly got plum, rather than chopped, as LG was busy moithering me, but no bother, they still cook up and cost the same), some dates, pasta sauce (holiday), and some flapjacks and malt-ezer bunnies (where else have you seen them for 29p ea??).
I need to tot up my spends - but I know that in MrL my haul came to…….60p! We did get stuff we needed today, and stuff that will all be stored correctly and used. There appeared to be no limits in MrL - and there were more people choosing from the selection than there were in MrT, despite it being a bigger store. Perhaps it was simply a matter of timing.
LG is now moithering to go out for lunch again - I really don't think the 'we need to think about our journeys at the moment' message is getting through. Things were different with the 1970's oil crisis - I was younger, but also we only had one car, and shopping was on set days and we didn't go out for leisure drives, there was always a purpose to our outing. The car stayed parked in the garage for more time than it was used. Oh, and we were on the bypass today, and yes, I was possibly driving the slowest keeping steady speeds of between 55 - 60mph with cruise control…….. 🙄
Ta for popping in.
