That was my hope Baileys_babe - that the 4 rolls would fit into my smallest pan and then expand to be a slightly wider roll, but I worried (who? me? 🤣) that if they didn't expand, they would be herby finger rolls, and not be what I'd envisaged - hence bringing in the other pan. But yes, ideally I would have only used one pan. The issue being of course, that I haven't the right pans for whichever hair-brained idea I'm apt to come up with at a moment's notice 🤣Baileys_Babe said:The roll look lovely.
Our house runs colder than most so dough takes longer to rise, one advantage is the bread is much more flavourful.
When we make rolls we buy them on a baking sheet or a baking tray whichever will fit the whole lot on to save on washing up 😉
Thanks KajiKita - the aroma is floating around the house as they cool, it's driving me (good) nuts 🤣 DH has already figured out there are more rolls than are needed for a small person's luncheon, and has put in a (hopeful) bid..... 🤣

Good evening MFW'rs
Just in case I come over as a right old grouch bucket, there was some 'seasonal' handwash in hB the other day, it was the same price as the regular handwash, and was part of the 2 for £1.80 offer. It's quite nice, honeyed fig and almond I think. I think that's probably as far as I will go for 'holiday decor' in the smallest room though.
Tea has been munched. I made some tomato soup in the PrC, and ran a bit of cream cheese and pasta through it at the end.
I seem to have bust the non-food budget already this month 😟 I think it needs a review going into 2026, of what to include and what level it needs to be set at.
Right, I had better get going. I've a few things to do before bed time. I'm trying very hard not to, but I think I may be going down with something 😟

Right, so.
Newly revitalised circuit sewn back into the Christmas Festive jumper ✅
Double-checked light and audio quality and annoyingness levels ✅
Food cooked, and 'components' gathered for tomorrows snap x 2 ✅
Tomorrow's Advent sorted ✅
After a bit of an iffy start with the Christmas jumper, I have to say, I have thoroughly enjoyed all the plotting, planning, research and subterfuge that has gone into getting to this point 🤣 LG asked me this afternoon if I had put the 'squeaker' in the jumper, and I said - blandly - "no sorry, I haven't got round to doing it". They were very good, and said it didn't matter, so I am hoping that when they discover the 'tweeking' to the jumper tomorrow, that they will be excited. I can only apologise in advance to the teacher.......
LG is still doing homework at the moment, and they need to read daily, and parents/carers are supposed to monitor it. I've taken things in a 'festive' direction this past couple of weeks. Not religious, but 'seasonal' - perhaps winter as much as festive would be a better description. There is a chapter in 'wind in the willows' (gosh, a hard book to wade thru), that deals with Mole returning home at Christmas time. It struck me that the 'happy homecoming' that Mole talks about is down to very simple things - and primarily the sharing of those simple things with others. I have so enjoyed doing things for my family. OK, so a bit of 'secrecy' has been involved, but I think that the surprise slightly warrants it. A child at school has recently received 'the moon on a stick' - they have been taken somewhere LG would dearly love to go, they had money to spend - but actually spent it on something unrelated, but bought items that they are then bringing to 'show off' at school. LG is trying very hard to not be envious, and is hopeful that they might get one of the items off santa for Christmas, or failing that, they might be able to spend some of their own money, and get the desirous 'thing' in the holidays. I'm trying to walk the thin line of it being a 'life lesson', and consoling my disappointed child. After all, if a classmate gets the moon on a stick on any random Saturday, what hope has LG of ever catching up? We've had the discussion about "stuff", and how - in the grand scheme of things, it's not going to matter - but of course, it matters now. We've all been there at some time in our lives. LG is everything that the moon recipient kid is not. I hope that our version of festive sharing and togetherness looks a lot more like peeping through the windows at Mole End, that it does looking into the great empty void of space.
Goodnight fellow MFW'rs. See ya in the morn!

I got a hug, and "You FIXED it!" 😁Very excited and delighted with their jumper. I am very blessed.
I had brought the jumper downstairs last night - in plain sight of LG and claimed I was airing it in front of the radiator, so that once they'd gone to bed, I didn't have to go shuffling around upstairs, waking them up to grab it. I'd already secreted my sewing things away, amidst my knitting 🤣 Once I'd finished, I put the jumper back on a different spot on the airer, and waited. I was surprised that it wasn't 'fiddled' with, when LG first came down to brekkie - but the advent/chocolate took precedence 😁 But then they popped out of the kitchen - and it went quiet for a nanosecond....... and then they had clearly not been able to resist 🤣
Snap x2 all packed up - DH is getting posh rations as well today 😁Jason Mohammed is sitting in for Owain, on R2 this week, and clearly he'd been having a discussion about what folks were planning on eating for Christmas lunch. Interesting selection - I think the HM lasagne got my vote 😁 and being HM you could make whatever version you liked, to suit your crowd, couldn't you? But folks were going to their village Indian restaurant (would get my vote if we had a decent one nearby), one chap was sticking with steak and chips - why not? 'Feast' on what you'll eat up - a capital idea.
I've still a tickle roaming around my throat, but I'm trying very hard to stay hydrated. I at least slept like a log, once I floated off to sleep last night - so that's a first in a while.
I was going to do my postponed walk into Greying Town this morning - but I can hear the rain pelting down, so that may be a no go. I suspect I am going to have to sort out some sort of wash and dehu dry situation, as I'm running short on clothes now. But at least everyone else is catered for.

Awwww .... So pleased that LG was excited and happy about their jumper, and I rather think it serves the teacher right for being so non-season-of-goodwill-rather-than-consumerism in their approach to this time of year ....

How did the rolls open and make up for snap - were both recipients excited / pleased?
