Slow cooked gnocchi - what a great idea! We have both a tin of soup and a pack of gnocchi - may do this for Friday as we'll be at the hospital for a test all morning and it can bubble away happily on low while we are there!

That's why I've always shied away from SC cooking, because I always thought veggie dishes would be watery, but using condensed soup as a base, and putting pasta and rice etc into dishes has proved that you can get good enough results. The dish that I based my version on was actually a vegan baked casserole, and the base sauce was just bechamel. The bechamel was put at the bottom, the cooked mushrooms and broccoli put on top of that and then vegan cheese layered on top - with...... breadcrumbs or nutritional yeast??, I can't quite remember, and baked in the oven for X amount of time. I think the SC version is a good alternative, although I wouldn't put the broccoli in - I'd cook it separately.
Right, hump day.
We've a dental appt later this afternoon.
I think we too could do with another SC wonder to bubble away whilst we're out, as we're likely to be coming back in the door about the same time as DH.
I need to start looking on the insurance comparators again, so might summon my big girl pantaloons for that.
I need to shuffle the freezer drawer contents around, and make sure i don't miss anything off my shopping list.
No washing today, the baskets are empty/lightly populated, but I need to check on the weather for the rest of the week.
Right, snap to prep, best shift-a-tail-feather.

Good morning MFW'rs
Back from shopping. Arrgh, look at the time. Blooming roadworks adding to the time spent out the house.
I went to MrS, hB and MrL today. In total I spent £51.60 on food and £7.10 on non-food.
No boxes in the supermarkets. Other than a couple of things on price promo with the n*ctar card, there didn't seem to be any bargains. Lots of YS'd bread in MrS, but all priced at more than I pay for bread anyway. For once I had a slight regret that I don't have a MrL app/card/thingy, they had some plum jam in, and it was 40p off with the app thing. Never mind, I got some blackcurrant jam from MrS, and I don't suppose the plum jam will be half as good as Mrs M's was, off the allotment - well over a decade ago, and yet I've still got the memory of in..... delish. She was an ace cook/preserver, and her and her hubby grew the most delicious fruit and vegetables. They were kind and generous too. Smashing couple.
I did pick up a couple of things with the holiday in mind, but now I've the conundrum as to where to hide them, as LG knows instant porridge pots = staying overnight in a purpley hotel! 🤣 Ah well, a nice problem to have - and I know it.
Club tonight, so tea will be staggered and we'll probably eat different things. The 'what' has yet to be decided. But we'll not starve.
Off to amend siggie figgie.

Hahaha ... LG sounds like a gas 'that expands to fill all space available'!
Would they find it in the bottom of the wardrobe in your bedroom?

Trouble is KajiKita - there is also that saying that goes. "apples don't fall far from the tree...." 🫤🤔 There is a possibility that I wanted to know everything that was occuring when I was wee too........ 🫤🤣 we don't have a wardrobe, so the drawers and cupboard we do have are full, but also accessible.
inod - get your point, although I suspect HOMEWORK EXTENSION MATERIALS - 1 of 10 might be a better 'put off' box inscription🤣
Right, I've had a think, and sort of combined your ideas. I've put the things (so remind me if I can't find them), into the old cool bag, that used to be in the boot of the car, into the under stairs cupboard. Not quite as random as it sounds, as all the picnic/day out carry bags/cool bags etc are stored there, so I've popped in underneath. There's no reason LG should go ferriting around.........

GP I think that's shopping schemes, the l dl + app is generous and intuitive (even though I know that my shopping habits have been noted in order to give me the weekly discounts)
With a £10 spend in a month you'll get a free cake which makes a nice treat for LG. There are also plenty of 15% off coupons on things you buy once the algorithm has got you sussed. Though I'm not sure why I've got 20% off 20v bare unit tools this week?!🙀

Id agree with Black cat. I get much more benefit from the Lldl app than the Sainsbury one.4
