Used to love big daddy and giant haystacks. Only real happy memories of my dad was us re-enacting their matches.

The Borrowers is a great book, hope LG enjoys it.
We have three of this garish pink camellias, they came with the house. 'Donation' is on the cold corner of the house and still manages to be roof high and generally covered in bright pink flowers from Feb onwards. It's a welcome splash of colour but I prefer the more subtle snowdrops and hellebores. My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese

My Dad was also a big fan of the wrestling on a Saturday affy
He was very calm and quiet generally but would get quite agitated and vocal at the wrestling. He particularly like Kendo Nagasaki, Giant Haystacks and Big Daddy

LOL - oh dearest Greying - the picture you brought to mind of handbags and wrestling was quite the treat!
Mind you when I said 'pack' I was thinking more of the gang morphing into she-wolves and having at the offender(s) throats! (oh my - me bitter? - no, not me)...
Come-on fussy Mama - give in to the majority just this once and let them have pizza two days in a row! It may even be remembered as 'that week' Mama went off-piste and gave us a treat!
Hooray to all things spring! I'm loving all your tales of bird-song and blooms & even inclement weather which seems to me to be much milder than it was a few months ago. I've even succumbed to allotting a tiny bit of our grocery budget to some cheap daffs from Waitflower - cheap sunshiny bouquet to greet us every morning upon waking as it is residing in the bedroom.
Tomorrow is the lunar new year and truth be told brings me more joy than the one that happened a month ago! The thought of a year being 'ruled' by a dragon makes me want to pick up our collection of Anne McCaffery books and start them from the beginning! Now there's an idea @rtandon27 I have all of my Dads hard copies of her books and have never read them. When my parents moved they gifted us a huge mountain of sci fi and fantasy books and I should read them to check that all the words are there. My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese

I went to see Big Daddy in Gloucester it must be 40 years ago now. Such theatre & such fun. I expected to hate it but actually really enjoyed it, exH was a big fan much to my surprise.

Popping in to say that my Nan who was a teeny, tiny, quiet, devout and solemn Catholic spent Saturday afternoons glued to the wrestling on World of Sport, I liked watching the tag wrestling with her where wrestlers would crawl desperately to the ropes to tag in their partner. Why settle for 2 wrestlers when you can have 4?8

GP - popping on quickly to say I've just found out it's National Pizza Day!
...also our local borrower family or perhaps our resident hob has returned the 'green thing' that normally lives in the slot in the vacuum & has been sorely missed by yours truly when trying to clean the baseboards! The crevice tool had been missing for about a year and magically appeared peaking out from under a bookcase! No more flylady old sock dusting for me!4 YEARS 10 MONTHS DEBT FREE!!! Good Morning MFW'rs
Such a lot of lovely visitors - thank you for you comments and for the advice and help that you proffer to others - super job.
teapot2 - Kendo Nagasaki was always masked, wasn't he? And the object of the exercise was to de-mask him before he could beat you on points. Such choreography and scripting! 🤣
Thank you all for joining in the conversation regarding diminutive ladies and their trusty handbags! You've certainly made me laugh and smile with your recollections.
RT I knew it was national pizza day, yesterday, having seen something online in the morning, but in the end I went with the veggie balls and pasta option. I did prep the mushrooms that I bought on Thursday, so I will make a mushroom pizza today and LG can have pizza out of the freezer, as they prefer black olives to mushrooms - or I might make a 'half & half' pizza, as the mushrooms have cooked down quite alot 🤔 I always miss the rugger played at teatime anyway, and this year won't be any different. I can absolutely see why fast food delivery comes into its own during the world cup, superbowl, or olympics or whatever, but I'll just have to juggle. I can certainly have most things prepped/close to hand, so shouldn't miss vast tracts like I used to do when the kitchen was located the other side of the house to the TV. We have at least got our bargainacious Welsh brewery beer to try this afternoon - I suspect that the Welsh team will be looking to win, and win handsomely, so we can toast their efforts, whilst cheering on England. LG is an ardent supporter of Team Wales 😁(but won't be having any beer!).
Today should be a nsd.
I have got a wash on - it's borderline how dry it will get as the breeze ain't spiffy, but I need to catch up with LG's clothes.
DH has gone into Greying Town to conduct some banking, and account administration. LG has gone to "supervise", with the intent of spending some money that a very kind relative gifted them. The thing is, DH doesn't want to spend ages in town, and truth be told, there aren't that many shops in the town centre that sell toys and games anymore. But it's burning a hole in LG's pocket, so.......... Oh, the commercial bank came into school yesterday, and LG's class had the money session. LG didn't talk about it very much, so I am not too sure how comprehensive it was. Possibly a bit of a 'tick box' exercise for the bank in public relations - which is a shame as they could engage the kids - money is an interesting topic! However, I did see yesterday that another financial institution is coming into school later in the year, so maybe they might do better. LG has a more vested interest in that company 😉
Sorry I haven't anything more MSE to add. I am getting a bit worried about this month's 'C4C' pot contributions. I knew the 'P4P' pot would be a slow grower, based on monthly salary, but the 'C4C' is dependent on magicing pennies up from unexpected sources - and they are currently keeping well hidden!
I must remember to add £3 to my grocery total for yesterday's apples/potatoes purchases.
Thanks for popping in. Greatly appreciated.
