Dearest Greying, feel free to ponder anything you like in your own diary! And feel free to read, digest, and also ignore, amy of our opinions about anything 😁 You are doing an excellent job with LG, I KNOW it. Every parent I know worries about what the right thing to do is - i reckon it's the sign of being a good parent 😊 xx6

Can I just thank everyone who has contributed to the discussion of "the issue". Nothing has changed (unfortunately), but what I wanted you to know was that in discussing it - even in broad, anonymous terms - you have helped me to see something. Regretfully it isn't a page on the big river site, for the magic wand seller of diagon alley 😉 but I have now seen what part of the issue is. Basically, it boils down to a 'team player' in a room full of parallel players....... That doesn't present an immediate solution, but it is like a light bulb has gone on in my mind, and I now have some clue as to where to go searching for possible help. Regretfully a 'side issue' that I thought I'd dealt with, re-ignited yesterday. But people are people and if they chose to ignore your thoughts, wishes or opinions, it makes situations drag on. So it is going to get worse before it gets better.
Thank you.
PS - VH was right, I have few, if any people to talk this over with, and I'm not ashamed to admit I read VH's post and burst into tears.

I need to do some shopping today, as we are low on milk, and the fridge is pretty bare. Tea last night ended up being completely different to what I said, as we got side-lined by drama llamas. We ate veggie sausages, mash (or tomato sauce pasta for the non-tattie lover), baked beans and green beans. Yoghurt and fruit for pud.
I contacted a mum chum yesterday - our children attend the same club and get on well - to see if they were up for meeting up in the hols. And they said yes 😁The mum chum is on the same page with having fun, without busting the bank, so there will be something that we can do together. Also I contacted another chum who has been something of a Fairy Godmother/Aunty/Grandma type figure to LG since birth, and they have agreed to a hook-up in the hols too. This person has a tremendous sense of fun and LG loves spending time with them. With the reading options and outings that I've thought about and time spent with their beloved papa - I think LG may well be wanting to go back to school, come September...... for a rest 🤣
I'm just about to peg a wash out. Should dry ok. I left the washing out a bit too long last night and it had started to go back to feeling slightly damp in the cold/humidity? Silly me.
Right, can't think of anything else to add on an MSE vibe, so I will push off. As I type, all is well. Long may it last. Ta for popping by. Great to see you.

I was thinking of suggesting that you spend the summer boring the socks off LG so school would be an improvement, but having them go back for a rest would work as well.If we didn't want to know about or try to help with issues that are not strictly financial then we wouldn't read. All these things are interconnected.3

These diaries have to evolve into more than just the purely "MSE" stuff, or we would bore ourselves, never mind anyone else! I think (hope) that the forum team are understanding of the importance of balance here, particularly where wider "household life" stuff could also impact into MSE life as well.🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Back from shopping.
I only went to MrS today. I should have dropped in to hB too, but I only needed one thing, and frankly, I forgot until I got home, so I'll get that another time.
I spent £36.31 in total. There's no alcohol in that and only 1 YS'd item - I was going to buy some tatties, and then noticed there was a YS'd bag of Vivaldi tatties for something like 26p less than I was going to pay for Osprey's. I also bought a couple of items that were slightly cheaper because I did a smartie shop, and I saw that R1bena was on special n*ctar price offer at £1.50/850ml, so I got a couple of bottles, as to be fair to LG they drink water most of the time, but they do like blackcurrant (over orange surprisingly enough), and sometimes it's nice to have a change - especially if, say, DH & I are perhaps having wine with our pizza. LG doesn't drink fizzy pop routinely at all, so I don't think this is a bad compromise.
So we're 'off' with the shopping budget 🫤 Only 29 days to eke the rest out........ 🫤😊 I did get a smartie shop check today. Was probably overdue, as I've not had one in a while, but is the worst part of smartie price shopping.
Washing looks to be drying nicely, we have a breeze and sunshine which is nice.
I'm pondering what to do for tea, as the weather is screaming "salad", but I'm wondering if I've enough to make something "interesting", and yes, dear reader, I have just been shopping! 🤣 Mind, as you all know, £36 doesn't get alot.
Right, off to ponder and amend my siggie figgie.

Not that I like to set people off in tears but I suspect you needed it! No point keeping things bottled up. I've said to Mr VH in the past that often if I'm speaking the issue out loud or getting upset about something it's not because I need him to fix it for me. It's because until it's all out of my head I can't start to work out how to deal with it or move on from it."You won't bloom until you're planted" - Graffiti spotted in Newcastle.

Good evening MFW'rs
VH - i definitely think sometimes you've just got to get things out; tears or just the wordages or thoughts - and yeah, I get the "I don't need you to fix it, I just need you to hear...." aspect.
Today has ended up quite well. There was a bit of a silly stunt at school involving several pupils, of which LG was one 🙄 At least it was just curiosity leading to a rule being broken - and as luck would have it, no-one was physically hurt. Actually, I think the kiddos got their ears bent as; a) they are usually better behaved, b) they blew a hole in the risk assessment process and c) frankly, the adult supervision was left a bit wanting......... I wish LG hadn't been involved, from what I gather they weren't the main protagonist, and at least it was just breaking a rule. They weren't in anyway being mean or hurting another pupil. So it was just typical misguided kiddy behaviour - no malice intended. A typical "racing incident" if you will, in the course of a school career.
More information has come out about the class changes, and it's good news. At least the 'kind kiddo' count in LG's prospective new class has been increased by One - YAY! #strawclutching. So LG is feeling a tiny bit better. I'm sure we'll be riding a roller coaster in between now and September, but it's important to see the wins. And if I can in any way contribute to growing LG's self-esteem and confidence, between now and then, you can bet we'll try our best.
LG thinks they did well in their spelling test (the results are never fed back home 🙄), so that's a return on their hard work put in daily to learn the spellings in the first place.
Tea ended up being lentil bolognese with a carton of HM caponata throw in - served with pasta. I will get round to making curry just now...... 🤣
I'll push orf. I've not got the washing in yet - I'm risking it getting cold damp again.
Ta for being here.

End-of-term-itis = silly behaviour. Well done LG on the spelling test but a shame no results are fed back home. How are parents meant to know if progress is being made? Glad to hear another kind kid will be in next year's class.4
