GP - thanks for the reminder about red kidney beans. I think I have some somewhere, and I used to regularly make a Madhur Jaffrey Rajma recipe with them which I loved. Time to try that again I think!4

Right, back from the shopping trip.
Unbelievable how much 2 small bags of shopping costs 😟 All 'basics' too, yoghurt & nuts, loo paper and soda crystals type shop 😟
I have amended my figures in my siggie. EEEEk! 😬
At least the breeze has picked up slightly and it's brightened a little - not so overcast now. So that's a slight improvement.
Right, curry is calling.

@Greying_Pilgrim - I just spotted online that MrL has a special on starting tomorrow that includes La!la 1kg bags of dried chickpeas, green lentils & yellow split peas. Also has one pound packages of diced paneer, which if I remember correctly can be split up and frozen in smaller quantities.4 YEARS 10 MONTHS DEBT FREE!!! Morning MFW'rs
Wash pegged out (forecast is for overcast but breezy, so fingers crossed it'll dry the clothes somewhat).
Snap made and packed.
Husband provided with clean clothes - you will NOT believe that having sewn on a button to a pair of works trousers, hubby came home last night with another pinged button! Stand still man! 🤣
Green lentils offer in MrL is part of their offering for Ramadan. Therefore, I think I will do some investigating to see what other offers are around. MrT's red lentil offer trumped MrL last year (bigger bags), although I think MrL beat MrM on green lentils. But worth investigating, as these are pulses we use often, and every little helps!
Tea last night was a 'use up' fest. I made a 'sort of' filling that you might find in a chicken pot pie. It was onions, garlic, mushrooms fried up and then cooked in a sauce made from condensed mushroom soup. I added frozen mixed veg and then added in (cooked) quorn filets, chopped up. Served with basmati rice. It made the quorn go further than it would have, otherwise, For some reason i had two open packets with only several filets left.
Club tonight. No fees - paid last week. Tea will be in two sittings. I've not thought what though yet, as I don't particularly want to use up my eggs, as I need to do some baking. Will think on.
Right, uniform is set out, but not put on, so I need to shift-a-tail-feather and go stick a leg in a pant to show a good example!

Right, looks like the bigger MrT across the way in Cosmopolitan Town is the best bet for 2 kg brick pack red lentils - with a CC, but then offers for other lentils and beans will (hopefully) materialise elsewhere, as I am not spying anything interesting at MrT.
I think I will continue with my plan to go to our local medium-sized MrT today along with the little MrL. I will get a few things from MrS either later today, or tomorrow. I've just remembered, I've not put milk on my list.

I was just going to jump in and say that the big T's store near work has mahoosive bags of pulses on offer at the moment so will be worth a look. I'm certainly going to scour Lil's for that paneer though - it's something I want to experiment with using so a good offer would be worthwhile for us.🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

EH - Although some MrT's (none of ours amongst them, unfortunately it seems) do stock the 5kg bags of red lentils, per kg on offer, the 2kg bags are coming out as best value in MrT - from what I have seen online. I've only ever once snagged a 5kg bag of red lentils, and that was actually in our local MrS, which did - at one time - do the 'supersize' versions of some products (like catering size). but I've never seen them instore since 😟
Right, shopping done. I didn't look in our small MrL as to whether they stocked the pulses, as it would have been on one of their jumble sale aisles, and it was full with pushchairs and trolleys, when I went past, the first time and then I forgot to go back. I did have a look in the YS'd section of that aisle, but everything was so rammed in, that you couldn't see what there was 😟
I did buy a couple of things YS'd (unplanned) in MrL, but they had 2 packs of their plant based sausages YS'd to 89p each. One 'plain' and one 'Cumberland'. I've not had them before, but I figured that 89p for a main component of a meal for us, couldn't be left on the shelf. So I bought them. I did also get a bag of brussels sprouts in the PoTW 59p - they looked nice and green and fresh. I did also spot that MrL are selling their tinned fruit cocktail (in juice or syrup) for 49p. There is no fanfare, it is not an app price, not YS'd or red labelled. This is half price, and if you use the product, represents good vfm. I spent a total of £25.04 in MrL, which does include a bottle of wine. No £1.50 boxes in our little store and not overly much YS'd.
In MrT I managed to spent the remaining CC vouchers - £10, plus £1.31 cash. I did buy 2 lots of YS'd cheese sub rolls - which weren't necessary, but I do sometimes like to change things up a little for lunchboxes, and YS'd they were less than a similar product in MrAl. I did have a quick look at the world foods 'shelf' in our MrT, but they only had the smaller pulse packets - which is par for the course. The only other place that I have seen the rice/pulse offers is where you enter the store, but naturally that was wall-to-wall chocolates and cards for 'friendship' 😉 day 🙄
There wasn't much YS'd produce in MrT - although what was in the one section was difficult to pick through as two of the 'home shoppers' had decided to have a gossipy chin-wag. Two strapping teenagers and their carts takes up alot of space 🙄 But to be fair to them, there seemed to be lots of the 'same things' with tuppence ha'penny knocked off, so I don't think I missed owt.
So, scores on the doors is £26.35 in cash today and £10 cc vouchers. EEK! I need to get cheese from MrS, but we've still got enough cheese for lunches for this week, so there is no rush to get that today.
