I've just had a good catch-up on this thread after a few busy weeks. Mostly nice busy: we had a short break in Llangollen which is now on our 'go back to' list, and friends came to stay over the bank holiday weekend, so we took them to Robin Hood's Bay, which was a big hit with them. Other than that, I've been battling the garden: it's all-out war on ground elder, which isn't too relaxing, but is resulting in some neater areas and plenty of fresh air. I also stayed up late a couple of times, watching for the Northern Lights, and getting a few photos of what seemed to me very subtle changes in colour. I nearly got rid of a lot of those photos as showing nothing but thankfully I had a look at them as soon as I woke next morning, while my eyes were still dark-adjusted, and I've caught quite a few good shots. Must try not to delete them by accident, as they look black in full daylight!
@leftatthetrafficlights, I'm sorry to hear about your injuries. I hope the painful side of it eases soon. It must be frustrating not being able to drive etc. On the positive side of things, you have your garden to enjoy. (I broke an arm this time of year and had lots of time off in the most glorious weather. I couldn't sit in a deck chair, though, as there was no way I could have got up again without help!)I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

I'm new to the forum and one thing I'm really excited about is learning how to leave slow, cause last couple of months were super hectic for me. I started a new job for the https://domypaper.com/, so if some needs help , please don't hesitate to contact me.5

Our local garden centre has a yellow sticker type table. I bought a cotoneaster for £2 previously selling for £10 and a few alpines for 50p each - all looking very sorry but now several months later they all look great and thriving.7

Thank you to everyone for your sympathy and good wishes for my recovery regarding my fall 😁
I would usually respond to each of you individually but I hope that you can understand that at the moment it's not as easy to do so I'm reading your posts and cheering you all on en masse until I have a bit more mobility! 🙄🤦♀️ Welcome to the new visitors 😁
I'm spending most of my days reading and listening to music - dh is working from home so that he can make me drinks and food and is helping me with cooking too. We made tofu on Tuesday which we had with salad and broccoli and yesterday we made mushroom and walnut bolognese which we will have tonight with red lentil pasta. I am trying to do what I can but things like folding laundry are beyond me at the moment!!
The weather has been rubbish over the past couple of days but is promising to improve from tomorrow- if it does I'll be spending some time out there. I'll be avoiding the hosepipe though!! 😂😂😂

The spicy tofu dinner - served with sprouting broccoli, edamame beans, rocket with strawberries, raspberries, blueberries and pomegranate and 'riced' carrot and apple 😍

Today has been truly lovely- I woke up to deer in the garden, I've been laying on my swingseat, listening to birds and the waterfall, watching newts and dragonflies and feeling the sun and wind all around me 😍 an absolutely perfect day so far - dinner will be a concoction of leftovers so no real cooking involved, my evening will consist of a hot shower, an early night, 'new age' music and yoga nidra - loving the slow life even though I'm not able to do much due to injury 😍 I'm so grateful that I'm able to live this way ❤️DNF: £708.92/£1000

morning all
I seem to be living a little less slow but i’m enjoying life, so not all bad. Yesterday I ran a stall on the crafters bazaar to raise funds for work. I like selling and i’m good at it, so that was a pleasure, and i sold lots of things as well as resisting the temptation to visit other stalks….it’s an opportunity to reduce one’s stash, so i didn’t want to increase it.
I cam home one night to discover my neighbour at the back had been cutting the leylandii hedge down, so went rounded to offer access from my garden. it’s a young couple who moved in there last month, and the offer was eagerly accepted so saturday morning was spent passing various tools up to him and holding a cable reel. i’m really please; I hate that hedge and it overhangs my blackcurrants and rhubarb, defying them rain and the leylandii has aphids so i get honeydew all over my crop. It’s trimmed now. Eventually he hopes to strip it out but it’s a long hedge and runs the length of my back a nd my neighbours back.
Anyway hope you all have a good week

I wore sandals out for the first time in ages on Friday and decided that I need my summer pedicure. I booked it for tomorrow, but the weather looks rainy so I have changed it for today. I will have that done and have a mooch around the charity shop and then come home to start my book.3
