@Smudgeismydog - thank you! I had a fab day and really enjoyed my time in the garden 😊 I hope you enjoyed your dog walk and your chore free day! 😁
@Valli - I'm glad you enjoyed your train ride - how many rabbits do you have? I'm imagining a sea of bunnies!! 🤔😂
@Wednesday2000 - I'm glad you enjoyed your night away 😊 I know what you mean about the processed vegan food 🤦♀️ As a very long time vegan I was excited to try it all too! I have cut it all out of my diet now and I feel so much better for it - junk food is vile for your system, vegan or otherwise!! 😵💫🤢
@Cherryfudge - thank you for the offer of running support! 😁 If I get to the point that I feel ready to try it, I will definitely take you up on the offer! I'm at least 6 months away from having the level of fitness I would need to feel comfortable with attempting it - I've become so very unhealthy over the past 5 years that it's pretty scary how much of a struggle even the day to day stuff became - thankfully I have started to claw my way back now but it's going to take some time 🤦♀️
@Florafauna - sounds like you had a lovely day! 😁 Well done for tackling one of your kitchen cupboards! Mine are on my 'to do' list - I need to have a reshuffle as they're just not working for me at the moment 🙄 it's not going to be a quick fix though as I think I need to clear some stuff out of the understair cupboard too as that's where I store some of my 'spares' - we have far too much food in the house for two people! 🤦♀️😂
Yesterday in the garden was absolutely lovely- we potted on all the seedlings, cleared the salad bed, planted out the peas and beans and dh dug and sorted the new bog garden for the wild garlic so that's in now too 😁 I've made more decisions on my outside 'meditation and asana practice' space which is very exciting - dh is going to dig me a small wildlife pond which will have a little waterfall and I'm going to have a firepit made from reclaimed bricks 😁 The space is totally secluded and I already love it so being able to make it even more enjoyable is amazing!! It will take a couple of months to finish (the reclaimed bricks need the old mortar chipping off so that's going to be a long job!! 😳) but I'm going to do a little bit each day until its finished.
Today we have more seeds to sow and stuff to plant, we will spend most of the day in the garden but I put a soup in the slow cooker last night so I don't need to cook today. I'm not doing the walk or asana practice today - I've decided that I'll take the day off from those today to give myself a bit of recovery time as these past couple of weeks have been filled with more physically demanding stuff than I've done in years and theres still more to do!!
Have a fab slow day! 😁

hi. LATTL
we have two bunnies, a large white doe and a tiny little buck (neutered). They were rescue rabbits, bonded by the rescuer. we used to have a pen for them but since we had a new gate the garden is now secure so they have free rein during the day, plenty of room to hop, dig and run and access to fresh grass. They have access to the hutch all day so they can shelter or get water. Not a bad life!Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016
Thank you Honey Bear6 -
@leftatthetrafficlights your planned bog garden sounds very interesting. I currently have wild garlic in the fridge to make salsa Verde from. I used to eat a lot of processed vegan food (am veggie) but have stopped eating it as its so unhealthy and expensive.
Grey and raining here after last night's windy weather. Still in be drinking tea, undecided what to do today
Have a good day all though my fellow Slowsters4 -
A walk along the (very windy Kent) coast and dinner with cousins planned for us today.
Enjoy your slow day allCarolbee6 -
Looked out the kitchen window and saw there's a row of spring flowers come up in the lawn. I had planted some a few years back and thought they'd all died so this was an unexpected treat!! Need to go have a closer look but I suspect they are those mini tulips given the timing.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards. Valli - have you a picture of the bunnies?!
I have three rescue animals, two now elderly cats and a JRT. I used to have 6 cats and 2 dogs at one point when I lived in London! I can't remember if I said this on here, but I might look into fostering animals when I don't have my pets anymore. That will be a while off, hopefully.
I'm feeling quite sluggish today. I am just going to finish the library book I started. It is quite good. The Only One Left by Riley Sager. Kind of a gothic style mystery/thriller.4 -
@Valli - they sound like very lucky bunnies with an idyllic life!! 🥰
@Florafauna - the bog garden has worked out well, we put the wild garlic in yesterday and it has definitely perked up since then! 😁 dh dug the hole, we lined it with some plastic sheeting we've had laying around for years, poked a few holes in it with a garden fork, refilled it with the soil then left the hose on it for about 20 minutes until it was totally saturated. Garlic went in then we put bark over it to help keep the moisture in - its in dappled shade for part of the day and deep shade for a while too so it should be happy 🤞 I hope you've had a good day whatever you decided to do 😁
@carolbee - it's pretty windy here too in Norfolk! 😳 Thankfully it hasn't stopped us working in the garden but we've had a few plant pots fly around while we've been potting things on! 😂 I hope you have/had a lovely dinner with your cousins!
@Brie - what a wonderful surprise!! 😁 I'm hoping that the bulbs I transferred from the front flower beds do the same 🤞
@Wednesday2000 - 4 of my dogs were rescues (the 5th one was an ex-guide dog who had to retire and my friend was no longer in a position to keep). Fostering is a lovely idea - I'm sure that the rescue centres are always on the look out for people who can offer a good temporary home and its so much better for the animals ❤️
Today's garden work has been intense but fabulous! Dh has dug my new wildlife pond and it has been filled!! 🙌 It still needs a waterfall sorting, plants, gravel and cobbles but we have put the water and mud in and popped some logs around it 😁 I am incredibly happy with it - it will look lovely in a few weeks!!
I'm pretty tired and achey now (also planted some stuff out and rehomed a couple of saplings that had self-seeded to another part of the garden) so I'm shortly going in the shower, having some soup then having an epsom salt bath and trying out a yoga nidra practice that I found on YouTube 😁

Also some gardening done here!! Planted my hyacinth bulbs (don't start on me!). Scattered both foxglove and granny bonnet seeds. Harvested some snapdragon seed pods and potted those. Also potted some morning glory seeds and sweet peas. Found a nice little pile of granny bonnet seeds on the greenhouse counter which I managed to get into a little cup and will think about where I might scatter those - out front on the verge is likely. Watered the plants I bought yesterday (geraniums, violas & more sweet peas) and have cleared a small space in the greenhouse so I can deal with the other seeds. I saved the "old man" clematis seeds last summer as it was dying so I'm going to try to germinate some and see if I can find a place for those too.
Discovered a dried pepper pod and the seeds look good so figured I might as well try to get them going too. And the honey nut squash ones - they were stored a bit damp so may not germinate but I want to try them because the squash was incredibly nice and I've never seen them in the UK. Not that I can grow squashes myself but I have a couple of friends who are very good on that score and if I can get them some germinated little plants for their gardens I would hope for a couple of squash back from them..... I am dreadful at veg for some reason and won't be paying for any plants this year as it's always a waste of time and money.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards. @Brie - sounds like you had a busy day!! I've never heard aquilega described as granny bonnet seeds before - I had to look it up! 😂It's a shame that veg doesn't work for you as its such a pleasure getting food from the garden - it may be worth growing some edible flowers so that you can jazz up your salads 🤔
Today I'm looking after my grandbaby so that dd can work - I've got him a few days this week so won't get much else done but will have masses of fun!! 😁🙌
I'm hoping to sow a few seeds tomorrow and sort the herb garden out as I'm not having him ttomorrow. I also want to start removing some of the ivy from one of the areas in my meditation garden as I'm planning on putting a bench there along with some lighting - it will be a long job as it's very well established and there's lots of random stuff underneath it - thankfully I need to make more ivy laundry detergent so at least some of it will be repurposed and it will be interesting to unearth what lies beneath - I'm going to feel like an archaeologist!! 😂
We're having the leftover soup for dinner tonight and tomorrow we will have roasted harissa cauliflower, spicy tofu, sprouting broccoli and purple sweet potatoes 😋 I must remember to put my soya beans in to soak! Wednesday I've got my grandbaby all day and for a sleepover so I'll make the walnut and mushroom bolognese as he loves it 😁 We're going to the beach on Wednesday afternoon so I'll probably need to make the bolognese tomorrow as its chaos when we get back - he's normally sopping wet and covered in sand so an immediate shower is required!! 😂😂
Anyway, he's just finished his brekkie so I need to play trains 😁

I also have leftover soup to have today and I have a portion of tofu in the fridge that I already air fried to use up. I might have it with broccoli and basmati rice with sweet chilli sauce.
I just got some steps in walking around the local park. There are lots of families having picnics today so I take it the schools are still on Easter holiday. I am going to finish my book today as I got distracted by watching YouTube yesterday!
