Morning friends
Still lying in bed as I am getting up slowly as I'm still on holiday 😁. Family coming to stay for a few days so will make a macaroni cheese for the kids dinner. They love it and I have everything in for it.
Chopping up the Xmas tree also and drying it for autumn kindling as it burns a treat once dried out.
Also off to the library for a book top up.
Have a good day everyone16 -

. Does anyone have any tips on yoghurt making ? I've never tried so not sure how to start. I love natural yoghurt with fruit but it's so expensive.
.It's possible to make yoghurt in a slow cooker, a thermos flask or even in the oven! Just google to see the possibilities. You do however need a sugar thermometer because temperatures are quite critical- you don't want to kill the culture!

Good Morning Everyone,
Today is my last day off before going back to work, I've loved being at home and just doing my own thing. Today I feel a bit odd though, my body feels like it's vibrating internally which I'm putting down to playing sound healing music while I sleep, maybe you can have too much of a good thing.
I'll be making more bread, flapjacks and yogurt later, plus some soup of some kind.
As I'm typing this I'm watching the birds on the window feeder, there's a robin and a blue tit, neither willing to share! Seymour the wood pigeon is waiting patiently on the fence to be fed, he comes every day and if I'm late feeding him gets closer and closer to the back door (today I am late).
The dogs are all asleep after their morning walk so it's nice a quiet - for now!

I would like to join, I began slow living ( well trying) last year when I left my job due to burn out. I lived off savings for bit but I am now back working 3 days a week. I still find this a struggle, however I cannot get.any pension till 65 so I have to have some income.
Last year I decluttered a lot of the house. I have kept a detailed record of my income and spending. This has allowed me to see the minimum I need to have coming in to live a good enough life.
I am 60 this year and I do hope to stop work when I turn 64. I have to save enough to carry me over till I get my pensions.
I do love living a simple life. I walk every day, enjoy meeting friends for a coffee and a walk. I still have a way to go to recover from burn out so I take things slowly.21 -
I use an Eesiyo yogurt maker but I don't use their sachets, just a bit of yogurt from the last batch and milk heated to just below boiling and cooled to between 42 and 46 degrees. I find it very reliable and as a bonus, the wide necked outer flask makes a very good ice cube bucket for summerIt doesn't matter if you are a glass half full or half empty sort of person. Keep it topped up! Cheers!12

Today is definitely a slow day as DH is back to work and I'm just pottering round and sending a few emails. Oh, and playing on the computer. I'm about to put shoes on and go down to the market while it's still open, on the off-chance of any really nice food bargains on the discount stall. That counts as exercise too.

Fast start to the day today. Had a swim and took down all the decorations and then hoovered etc. But it all slowed down considerably when a friend arrived for lunch and we sat nattering on the sofa for 4 hours!
Didn’t get around to my walk today and will catch up on my reading later so not too bad.

Hello everyone
Been having Internet problems today ,so couldn't message earlier.Just catching up now.
Thanks for all the yoghurt tips. I actually started to order a yoghurt maker but Internet wouldn't let me. Perhaps it was telling me to try a SC or flask first. I will try all the tips.
Just cancelled my next online shop as I've still not used everything in stock and there was nothing I really need.
The last few days I haven't felt like eating until lunchtime.i also notice I have lots of milk as I've not been making many hot drinks ,but had water instead. I was always told that " breakfast is the most important meal of the day " perhaps for me it's not. I feel much more energetic. ( of course could be that I saw too much food over Christmas and New Year. )15 -
Morning all,
I feel like some days I’ve achieved a much better balance getting through a manageable number of jobs, without trying to be over ambitious, then other days I’ve fallen back into trying to cram too much in again. I appreciate it will take time to unlearn these habits. One thing mentioned on here I am going to try is a conscious effort to spread household jobs through the week, as otherwise my weekend off work is filled with housework, and I don’t feel like I’ve had a break.
Disappointingly I haven’t lost any weight yet. I think I’m doing quite well with my exercise, but my eating patterns aren’t where they need to be, so that needs improving. Intermittent fasting has previously worked for me, so I think I’ll try that again.Generally my sleep has been good, sticking to a routine definitely helps me, as my body knows what to do.
I walked the dog yesterday morning, taking a route we haven’t done for a while. We enjoyed watching the clouds in the sky, and said hello to nearly everyone we passed. I focused on being mindful, and enjoying the moment, it really helped.
Happy Friday everyone, it looks like we are going to get a break from the incessant rain, which is something to be thankful for
