As an experiment, ive6 just asked alexa to phone me. She did, I answered then asked alexa to stop, she did.
Ive just looked at recent calls on phone, and it says International then the number. Does it mean a charge for has been incurred?

Do you mean it had a +44 at the start of your number and the zero was missing?
If that's the case then that's completely normal2 -
Incoming calls are charged to the call maker, not the call receiver.1
