Saving for Christmas 2024 - £1 a day

kdalwayskint

The Aim: To save a £1 a day from 1st December 2023 to 30th November 2024. How you save your £1 doesn't really matter, whether it be a £1 in a tin, an on-line account or anywhere else that suits you.
🎄 Getting ready for Christmas 2024 - save £1 a day challenge 🎄
It's a leap year next year, so an extra £1 to save
Also, I just want to say, you don't have to save £1 a day, do what is right for you. Any amount you manage to save is a help towards Christmas next year
I know a few of us have enjoyed doing this challenge over the years so I thought I'd host it again this year, please let me know if someone else has already started, if not here we go
We will open our tins or have access to our accounts on 1st December 2024 and declare total amounts saved.
Then it's spend, spend, spend for Christmas 2024 on whatever you like.
You soon get into the habit of putting a £1 a day away and just think this time next year you will have a healthy chunk of money towards the expense of Christmas
If you would like to join in pop your name down and the amount you are aiming for, I will allocate a number for you.
Please note, I have copied some of last year's information for the beginning of this thread.

Thanks for the new thread! I have been saving up for christmas this year, but doing it with people is so much more motivating. I'd like to join you all. I have mostly Dec family/friends birthdays which is a separate pot in my budget line, though same account. It does mean that my birthdays/gifts/christmas are NOT spread throughout the year! So for Christmas I'm aiming for a minimum savings of £366 - £1 a day. Will probably need to exceed that though. It's my basic amount though and anything else is a bonus! The £1 will be strictly for gifts.
Goal = £1 a day / £366

Please count me in. I love the idea of saving small amounts. Years ago my mum and I were in a Christmas savings club with her work colleagues. It was great at the end of November, when everyone's saving pot was handed out and you knew Christmas was sorted. I'm going to do the same and save until November 30th, 2024, though I'll start the saving today.Books - the original virtual reality.

Would like to join again.Didn't get very far last year, so have started with new determination. I am calling my pot Christmas/Bithdays '24 though, as we don't really spend much on Christmas, certainly not £365. So my total will go up & down through out the year, as birthdays or early Christmas presents are needed.
I have already got my pot started & have the grand sum of £15. Aiming for £1 a day, but may put more sometimesMaking the debt go down and savings go up

Hi,
I have just found this thread and want to give it a try. However I am very likely to forget to do this manually...sooo I am thinking I might set up a direct debit to come from my account into a separate account every pay day.1 -
Hi Kd, can I be no9? I lapsed last year and lost my number.
Thanks 🙂Saving for Christmas 2023 #51🎄
