SO if your supervisor is sorting it (whatever it is), what is it you are asking us?  It's a little confusing.
Forty and fabulous, well that's what my cards say....
  • So your manager covered your back by  telling HR that you were on holiday and wanted it to be recorded that way on your record.

Yet you emailed HR and told them the truth and thus have made your manager look a bit silly?

Reassurance, I think, that despite the emails the OP can still have the days as holiday.
which we can’t answer because we’re not his HR department.

My supervisor actually had my back and was quite nice.

I said I may come into work which he said I might as well have the rest of the week off.

He said be sure to get a sick note from the doctor. Otherwise I may not get paid for some days.
  • I don't think many places will stop you using holiday instead of sick, especially if your not paid and have leave to use.
I wouldn't worry about it, it's not a huge ask and I imagine it will be fine.

You can self certificate for seven days. A GP isn’t going to do you a fit note for anything less than that when  you can do it yourself.

However that doesn’t make sense if you are taking the days as holiday rather than sick pay. You don’t need a fitnote for holiday so I’m really unclear now why you are saying you might not be paid without a note? Unless you are now taking them are sick days after all.
