Insurance for student belongs

I'm thinking ahead here. Our daughter has now got her accommodation sorted for year 2, but we need to make sure her contents are insured for her. Our current insurers will cover her belongings whilst in her room, but not if in the communal area nor when she is moving to and from campus. She is going to be house sharing with 3 friends, rather than in uni accommodation. Does anyone know any insurers who will give that extra cover, or what it is I should be looking for when renewing ours?

It may be better for the 4 of them to get their own insurances and therefore that will cover them for other risks like damage to the landlords property. As unrelated persons their theft/loss cover will be limited to cases where there is evidence of violent entry, ie if a "mate" nicks something during a party then there is no cover.
You don't have to go for things marketed to students or tenants, these tend to be poor value offerings designed to take advantage of peoples naivety1
