I'm looking at doing a couple of European city breaks next year, but I cannot decide on where.
The choice is vast with the regular places as well as hidden gems.
Are there any websites or something similar where I can go for inspiration?
Looking at 3/4 days, solo female traveller.

Not entirely helpful as I can't remember what it's called but there is a Facebook group for lone female travellers which may give some food for thought in terms of safety etc. I'm not a member but every now and then Facebook thinks I need to see what Linda from Birmingham thinks of Cyprus.
I agree with Penguin, Malta is lovely Mdina is one of my most favourite places I've visited.Make £2023 in 2023 (#36) £3479.30/£2023

In recent years I've done Madrid, Seville, Porto and Lisbon. All nice in springtime.
Berlin is always good year around. One of the best value capital cities in western Europe.
All depends on what your priorities are - history, food/drink, shopping, sunshine, beach, partying or relaxation.
If in the South East, British Airways City Breaks can be good value: https://www.britishairways.com/en-gb/destinations/holiday-types/city-breaks1 -
There are so many options. You should visit the World of Wanderlust website, they feature “The 20 Safest Cities in Europe for Solo Female Travelers”. I have only been to Bergen and Stockholm from that list, but they were amazing.

I’ve spent time in both Lisbon & Stockholm as a lone female & felt perfectly safe. Both are great cities for a short break. I know Stockholm very well & it is currently excellent value due to the weak SEK.
I wouldn’t recommend Bergen unless you have deep pockets and like sightseeing in the rain.0 -
"I wouldn’t recommend Bergen unless you have deep pockets and like sightseeing in the rain."We must have been lucky then - a few years ago when we visited Norway the country was enjoying its hottest summer in 40 years.T-shirt and shorts dress order - with head cover and suncream.0

Lisbon and Oporto are both good options with good local transport and plenty to see (particularly Lisbon). Prices for eating out etc are also good.0

Hey Madlyn, I've just come across your post and there is a site (inspiremyholiday) which can help you find relevant destinations. We've used it a few times now. It won't have helped you for this holiday - but maybe the next one.

If you have fixed dates i sometimes go on Skyscanner site and put anywhere/everywhere as destination and see what the flight prices are and the good flight times etc - then I can pick eg 4 cities and read up on them and see how good they are0

We use a facebook group called "A Few Days Away" but beware it can get expensive, just looking at someones flight prices in bed on Saturday morning and 20 mins later we had booked as wellTotally Debt Free & Mortgage Free Semi retired and happy0
